Firstly, its good to know most of your fans are decent and condone this sort of behaviour.

To anyone trying to justify smashing any property that isnt theres, grow up and get some morals.

As if they got smashed up that much celebrating a goal, that excuse is a joke. Trust me, plenty of away teams score at our place and funnily enough none of the seats get smashed. we had 3000 leeds fans in there a few seasons running with no damage.

Unfortunately for you my guess would be that Orient would send the bill to your club (probably about £5 but still). From what i hear you are skint so well done to all those fans who think its acceptable.

I **** a fiver .... Job done

Perhaps the league should introduce seat belts for all games, thus stopping people getting excited and jumping up when their team scores. A bit of an overreaction in my book, the chairs were not lobbed on the pitch, they were in a worse state than the east greens. My seat broke last season due to it's poor condition not my chris barkeresque derrire.

Nice dig - but for me, If your slimeball of a chairman can waste tens of thousands of pounds on failed and embarrasing appeals over 'London Orients' moving to the Olympic stadium, I am sure that he can fork out for a few replacement chairs. The seat I sat in last night was filthy and a borderline health hazard.

It wasnt a dig, is it not true then?

He could afford them yeah. But if i come round your house and smash up all your furniture you would be happy to pay out for replacements?

You can say 'oh it's only a few flimsy seats' but for me its the general lack of awareness that actions have consequences that is so frustrating. When we doubtless get a reduced allocation next time we play Orient, or we don't get any of the north bank for the home leg, people will wonder why.

My seat was fine and I celebrated the goal like a lunatic.

Exactly mate. I dont begrudge you all celebrating like mad. I would have if we scored. I would even understand if a few seats were broken but not that many. There is no way that isnt anything other than vandalism.

Honestly I do wonder about some of our fans..

It's a couple of seat backs? Who cares? That stand was worse than our east stand! I thought we was gonna fall through it at one point when the floor was shaking

The fact people are embarrassed and blaming it on the "young fans" and so called "yobs" is beyond me..

If you don't like it just turn a blind eye to it

Its odd, but Im pretty sure Orient score goals most weeks and celebrate.

Makes you wonder why the seats havent broken already if goal celebrations led to seats falling apart.

Bizarre.

What a great attitude that would be.

Lets all turn a blind eye to anything bad happeing. Sod the clubs reputation.

So you would be happy if we come to yours int he 2nd leg and pull up a load of your seats leaving you with a big bill?

The point is that supporters won't be able to turn a blind eye to it, because we'll more than likely face some kind of "punishment" for this incident, be it losing the North Bank for the return leg or receiving a reduced allocation from Orient for future fixtures. It might've been a bit of a nothing incident and the fact it's popped up in the Daily Mail says far more about that newspaper than it does about our supporters, but it doesn't hide the fact that it's opened the club and its supporters up for criticism.

Of course, even if the seats did come off as a consequence of goal celebrations, it doesn't help that some fans took to Twitter to laud the fact they'd managed to get a seat back as a souvenir.

really?? what about crisp wrappers on the floor and dogs mess? you really are a big girl

If you read the thread Cockles, you'll see that I'm not the only one who thinks it's a bit tragic. You really aren't a big girl at all, you're a bloke pretending to be one on an internet forum.

Do what you like we will have no big bill - I will fit them again for free using the tonnes of stock of seats the club already have

It is an absolute disgrace and the people who ripped the seats out are not football fans, just mindless yobs. I have been watching football home and away for some 55 years and have never felt the need to rip out my seat my seat was still intact when i left the match last night so they could not have been of that poor a quality.
If the club discover who were responsible they should be banned from matches for several years and made to pay for the damage they have done to Leyton Orient's property not to mention the damage to our club's reputation.

so glad that most shrimpers are sensible and decent people.

As a fellow lower league team, constantly battling to balance the books, you should know that things like this dont help.

No home fans in the North Bank for the 2nd leg as Orient have been given 2,400 allocation.
