does anyone know the guy who was abusing him that he turned upon....apparently the same guy that Clohesy decked! Whilst I would not condone the fact that Ryan kicked him in the head, the guy was asking for it and my understanding is that the only reason the victim is not also being punished is because Ryan refused to make a complaint agaisnt him. Shame if he got run over or something...........

IIRC Hall kicked him in the chest

I would hazard a guess that neither party wanted to press charges (hence the affray which as it involves the public doesn't require a complaint ) but Hall on his feet holding a bottle (as opposed to bloke flat out on the floor) seemed the better chance of an affray conviction.

With hall gone for 10-20 weeks would like to see sawyer playing in his position and get banton in on loan and play him on the other side. hall has been great recently but we can't let this weaken us we need to put this behind us and focus on maintaining a play-off charge.

I hope we stick with him as he has been a great talent

UTB

Reading this, and it's saying as another poster said , he might bo out for the play off's. Would he be fit though? Certainly not match fit would he ?

Such a blow for the club, has certainly been one of, if not the best players in recent weeks.

I do hope the club sticks by him as he is a decent talent.

Yes by a jury of Liverpool fans. And this despite the fact Gerrard was shown ON TAPE assaulting a DJ.

And Rooney was seen, on Saturday night national TV in front of millions of witnesses, carrying out an assault with his elbow and zero action was taken, but that was on a football pitch; and he was wearing a Man U shirt..........

Although as the ref "took action" against it, then by the FIFA rules, the FA can do sod all about it.

surprised he's been sentenced, as this was a racially provoked attack. wonder if the person giving out racial abuse is a southend fan.
is this the first southend player to be sent down while at the club?

This news has really depressed me today, why does something like this always happen to one of our best on form players? So bloody typical of our luck lol..
Lets hope this wakes up a very talented 23 year old into establishing a decent football career with a club who's fans are really starting to fall for him.. (in a manly footy based way obviously) lol

Storrock said on the radio he will stick by Hall, he believes in second chances and while he is manager of Southend he will stick by Hall (unless not allowed by people above i.e tara and ron).

I don't think Ron will sack Hall. In the form in is in at the moment, he will wait till the summer and try and get some money for him. However, if Hall was working at my company and the same thing happened at our Christmas party his P45 would be on his desk the next day. Football players seem to live in another world

I bet Bilel Moshni gets loads of abuse for looking like Colonel Gadaffi but he doesn't go around getting into fights.

A gent.

He won't be getting money for him unless he gives him a new contract. His current one expires in the summer.

As he pleaded guilty, the club would surely have sacked him by now if they were going to. Either that, or we're about to see another astonishing pr gaffe from the Blues. As such I think he's staying.
However, contrary to pretty much everyone else on here, I'd have fired him. Bringing his employer into disrepute. Gross misconduct. Simple as.
Bet you're all glad you don't work for me!

Have you never made a mistake or done anything remotely illegal?

I have done both and have been lucky to never get caught and although those days are behind me i could have had a record that would have anchored me in terms of employment regardless of spent time. In fact had i been caught i may not have been working in my current position as a CRB was required.

life hinges on fine lines and moments of madness that we all regret after the event.

Hall made a mistake and he will make many more . This time he has been made an example of and has to except that his actions have consequences. On another occasion he may not have been caught or may not have been sent down. Would he have been ok in your eyes then?

We all moan that punishments dont fit the crimes and justice is too soft , well in this instance it would appear that justice has been used to the max.

The fact remains he is a southend player he reacted and then over reacted to something he shouldnt have to listen to anyway.

He will come back to the club and will be welcomed by me and most of our supporters

And your right , i am glad that i dont have you as an employer. Im afraid unlike you i am able to see shades of grey!

In my opinion if it was a Soares or a Paterson etc who had been sent down the club would be getting rid but we'd be cutting our nose off to spite our face by sacking Hall. I don't condone what he did but I think we can all appreciate why we retaliated. What will annoy me more is if we stand by him and he jumps ship for another club in the summer - he owes us for the stance we have taken on the issue.

So if he's a decent player, stand by him. If he's crap, sack him, yes?
