Back to the whole Hall thing, what really annoys me is if neither party made a complaint, why did the police press charges? It does seem to me as if it's a case of an easy arrest to make the figures look good.

Personally I'd rather they spent there time trying to apprehend people there are complaints about

As you can see, I have had to do some fairly extensive editing on this thread. Can I please exhort everyone not to speculate about the state of Ryan Hall's appeal unless you have a clear, published source for your discussions - e.g. a story in the Echo, or something from the Club website, or a statement from his solicitors.

Without such a source, we will have to presume that anything said about this very sensitive matter (which is part of an ongoing legal process) is likely to be potentially defamatory and will therefore have to be deleted.

We're losing sight of the issue here. He's kicked a bloke in the head and needs corrective punishment. Sack him.
Why the hell Martin is getting involved, other than to curry favour with the fans, is beyond me. Isn't there something he can get banged up for too? That hair for example.

If a stranger racially or verbally abused me, as happens all the time when you're young and in or outside a drinking environment, I would turn the other cheek. If he broke my jaw, I may do worse than punch him back and kick him in the chest.
I would probably be outraged and angered by this other thugs actions, the same as Hall was. After all, Ryan Hall came out a lot worse in all of this, broken jaw and court case. The other guy seems to have got away scot free.

Totally different, as in this case, the footballer was the very violent aggressor, and also kicked him in the face, which did a lot of damage.
