Rio 2016 Olympics

Christ, Hockey's turgid though, isn't it?

Total admiration for the players because it is a tough old sport and I clearly remember thinking '**** this' when having to play it at school but it really is not an interesting sport to watch.*

Also, hockey fans, judging by the sample I heard on Five Live this morning, are bells. One bloke said that if GB won the final, this would be the greatest achievement in the history of British women's sport as it would be 16 golds at once. Great logic there pal.

*In my opinion. Hockey fans, please feel free to argue the case!

Ellis & Langridge take Bronze in the Men's Badminton's Doubles, where they were only ranked 22nd.

Essex's Saskia Clark and her teammate Hannah Mill's finally have their Gold medal confirmed in the 470 Class Sailing.

GB go for gold in the women's hockey tonight at 9pm. There's also the US vs Spain in the men's BB semi at 7:30pm. Set an alarm for the Mens 4x100m relay at 2:30am

last two nights, I have recorded the action overnight, then got up early to watch it - if I do wake up in the middle of the night, it takes an age to get back to sleep.

Gutted for Adam Gemili

I've just finished watching Germany v New Zealand bronze medal ladies hockey match. Great moment when the ref told a New Zealand player not to speak to her like that as it would only p*** her off. Anyway, apropos nothing to do with the result, why did the Germans wear all black and the New Zealanders wear all white? Surely their normal international colours are exactly the opposite.
