There's a hell of alot of contracts up at the end of the 25/26 season - will we see improved performances as players will need/want new contracts, either with us or elsewhere.

@manor15 Absolutely this^^^^If it’s talks rather than exercising the option then I wonder if it’s the club’s way of trying to say “we want to keep you, but not on these wages”.
Means we need to carry 6 strikers to have any firepowerAgree totally with that, just cannot see anyone wanting Walker or Hopper. So you end up being stuck with two **** strikers who know you don’t want them as they were transfer listed.
We can definitely do better than walker, gubbins and Crowther.
Walker has been really poor and coming from league 1 is on some wedge.
Gubbins has never really fitted into the squad. Crowther didn't look at the level required before picking up an injury.
Lose those 3 and add maybe 6 or 7 top players and we are a top 3 side
I think we will/should be looking at a 5th striker anyway, even if Bonne stays. So it won’t necessarily just be those 4 as our strikers. The challenge we have is the combo of Hopper, Kendall, Bonne and Walker will not get us promoted. Plenty of effort but not enough goals imo.
Bonne is not the worst option of the 4 but due to the contract situation it may be preferable to opt for Hopper, Kendall, Walker plus a new face, who we gamble on being more prolific than Bonne
Hopper & Walker can both count themselves very fortunate to have existing deals. Feel both will go end of next season come what may, until then we have one another..
Not yet it doesn't. This is the list as it stands now. There's nothing to say we won"t see other players moving on.Means we need to carry 6 strikers to have any firepower
They were both really funny together on the Wembley questions video. Could tell it was a genuine friendship. In what sense?
As a left footed centre half, he can play left of a three, can play central of a three and has been played at left back too. His flexibility allows Ralph to go left wing back to rest/drop Bridge. Whilst I haven’t been Gubbins biggest fan, he played almost every game in league two the season before. I’d suggest he fits in the squad for his ability to play 2/3 different positions, and allows us to mix up other players too. So when Kev wants to operate with a smaller squad, it’s crucial we have some that allow this.
In terms of as a person, he has fitted into the group really well. Really good friends with Kendall and helped him settle into the squad too. Plus, he knew some others from his previous spell.
Yeah this. I think we’ll be getting a striker or two in the door regardless with the space freed up by Waldron and Wood going.I think we will/should be looking at a 5th striker anyway, even if Bonne stays. So it won’t necessarily just be those 4 as our strikers.
I suspect Walker will go out on loan for a bit, to get match fit/sharpness/confidence. With the option to bring him back if need be.The challenge we have is the combo of Hopper, Kendall, Bonne and Walker will not get us promoted. Plenty of effort but not enough goals imo.

Considering he only ended up at us due to Gubbins (both ex-QPR, probably the same agents), I think he will stay. If he does not, he will quit football. It’ll come down to whether Bonne thinks he can get the wedge he can elsewhere or if he means what he says and is enjoying his football here.
I know this is a form of SM, and hence the facts carry little if any value, but anyway in the leagueSo.. Cost us the game? Im sure it does but 45 games with a 5 goal return is woeful.
No way would that be a win for Bonne !Sounds like it doesn’t it. In fairness, if we offer him a deal heavily incentivised with goal/assist/appearence bonuses which could see him earn more if he does well, it’s surely a win for both sides.
Yeah I guess so. I was thinking more along the lines of it’s a win for him if he backs himself to be back to his best next season, as it’s an opportunity for him to earn more than he would’ve done otherwise. No way would that be a win for Bonne !
Not when he has a manager who has continually restricted him to coming late off the bench, preferring to start up front someone who seems to show minimal interest in scoring (or assisting)!
Think Parillon is the only one now on a contract longer than the end of 25/26.There's a hell of alot of contracts up at the end of the 25/26 season - will we see improved performances as players will need/want new contracts, either with us or elsewhere.
Even if you add in Bonne who Kev wants to keep we have 19 and a squad of 24 would be normal (maybe 25)if we have 18 contracted players then surely we could at least add 7 more make a squad of 25 , if so i hope the 7 we can add will be an upgrade on what we have ,not down playing what we have because hopefully many of them will improve next season ,after all they should look to themselves to seek out their weaknesses and improve them .
