That shoul happen to Walker Ifeel but there's a case for retaining Hopper. The club can make it clear players are no longer in contention for the first team and be loaned.

Snooze you lose, I would say make contact with your targets before you take a break. We don't want to lose targets because we were sunning ourselves on Shoebury East BeachIf I was Justin, the first thing I would have said to Kev and his team last Monday morning would have been, 'sod off and come back in a fortnight with re-charged batteries'.
Why don't you want our management team to have a well earned break?
I bet you take your holidays?
A week, but if my mortgage relied on it I wouldn't...this is a big time for the management. If I was Justin, the first thing I would have said to Kev and his team last Monday morning would have been, 'sod off and come back in a fortnight with re-charged batteries'.

Justin has said he wants promotion next season so does this mean a good budget?Promotion is part of the five year plan which is why I can’t see the club throwing a load of money at the playing staff.
I predict a few key signings in the loan market, a striker being the priority. I think I would take up the option on Bonne though depending on wage demands
I hope it's handled well, it's potentially a difficult conversation, essentially it appears to be "we want to keep you but don't think you're worth what we've paid this year". Given his battle with depression and falling out of love with the game, hope it does not have a negative impactReally pleased for Bonnehopefully a deal could be made and a good pre season under his belt would really help him
His reaction to LCP scoring at Wembley and then his reaction when we lost made me tear up. I absolutely love his passion and so want it to work for him
Without the goals, he's a massive asset for us, but if he can score between 10-15 next season, that's well worth it
Really hope he doesn't end up on a contract rewarded by goals, meaning he will hang onto the ball so as to take a shot himself ...... no thanks.Really pleased for Bonnehopefully a deal could be made and a good pre season under his belt would really help him

True dat - either way sounds like a 'renegotiation' of terms, which could be taken badly if communication is not spot on. I'm guessing options would normally have all terms and conditions agreed at the time of the original signing of contract?Unless the second years “option” included a pay rise beyond what we feel his role will be..
I love it when you post! A bit of common sense! There will be changes to the frontline.
I successfully predicted the other day what our retained list would look like. We weren’t going to “rip up” anyone’s contract, as it isn’t that simple.
If we wanted to release X, we would either have to pay up their remaining contract in full, or a mutual agreement would be made on a percentage of that contract. Which we wouldn’t announce until we agreed it with X.
We weren’t going to say Y & Z are on the transfer list, because it doesn’t need to be public knowledge, but we wouldn’t be circulating their names to clubs and agents to help us move them on.
Inevitably we will make signings, and there will be some departures too, but we only had three players out of contract, Wood, Waldron and Bonne. Two are gone and one we are trying to renegotiate on a “better” deal for us which means less money for him. This list was never going to have the 7/8 people that some want out, but that’s not to say they won’t leave.
But surely we could get Somone from a lower league to gamble on ?
I reckon a few supporters have got a Woodie during some matchesIt's sad, one day I had hoped to hear "We've got Wood" ring out around Roots Hall but it wasn't to be.
