Exactly this I reckon Sam. We'll see how much love there is on both sides of the fence then.If it’s talks rather than exercising the option then I wonder if it’s the club’s way of trying to say “we want to keep you, but not on these wages”.
Might be wrong, but I think deals usually expire at end of June. So Macca would have signed a deal from Sep 24 to June 25So Macca "joined on a one year deal in September" surely means he is still under contract until September?
Or is a year a season in football time?

Me too! Please please please don’t mention the Sittingbourne game I’m still trying to get over that afternoon ( a good opportunity to get to Wembley missed )![]()
I would have liked him to get a few more sub appearances and chances to prove himself, but Kev & co see him day in day out and know a lot more than I do... so I'll just trust their decision.Sad to see Jack Wood go, but it was inevitable.
He's been brilliant at Junior Blues events.
Agree totally with that, just cannot see anyone wanting Walker or Hopper. So you end up being stuck with two **** strikers who know you don’t want them as they were transfer listed.Perhaps I'm too extreme but out of the forwards I'd have retained Kendall, transfer listed Walker and Hopper, and offered Bonne a squad player contract.
Sounds like it doesn’t it. In fairness, if we offer him a deal heavily incentivised with goal/assist/appearence bonuses which could see him earn more if he does well, it’s surely a win for both sides. If it’s talks rather than exercising the option then I wonder if it’s the club’s way of trying to say “we want to keep you, but not on these wages”.
I think most knew that wasn’t going to be the case. I think many will be disappointed if they’re expecting us to rip up contracts left, right and centre. I just can’t see it happening for anyone, unless an attractive move abroad pops up for somebody etc.if we are gonna mutually terminate contracts that would happen at a later date , there is not a chance it would of been on the released and retained list
Not really his minutes work out as 31 games if every match was only 90 minutes so you are looking at around 28 matches. A lot as sub and a lot playing as almost a right winger. 5 goals not prolific but maybe if here were to be played in his preferred position he would have a better record than 1 in 6 matches, maybe not but I think he has done enough to stay and build on this season. Also has 5 assists so that is 10 goal contributions.So.. Cost us the game? Im sure it does but 45 games with a 5 goal return is woeful.
