There is NO such thing as coincidence.......That I do know.
Well, I don't disagree or agree, I haven't thought about it. My first reaction is there is such a thing as coincidence. If someone throws a red stick from 30 yards, someone throws a blue one from 10 yards and someone throws the other colours of the rainbow from a certain distance, isn't it a coincidence if they all fall in the right order?

Anyway, Euro's time :)

Can I just ask, at what point in this and why did Teeside Shrimper beomce Charlie Farnsbarns?

Choose from the following:

a) I have moved house from Teesside, my new home is as stated in my location

b) My real name is Charlie Farnsbarns

c) Following my contributions to this thread I am being stalked by an atheist and am therefore going undercover

The Bible contradicts itself at every turn. The God of Love that murders millions of people in Sodom & Gommorah?

Hey Paul I am not defending the Bible...a lot of it is rubbish and scaremongering to keep the people of that time in place.....But The "Ideal" behind most of it is laudable...why not obey the Ten "commitments", why not treat everybody as you want to be treated yourself..why not love one another...I don't see that anything Jesus taught or said as a failing in how society should be.

Er no, Rainbows are just refracted light that with our optical vision we see as different colours....it is mainly down to atmospheric conditions in the outer layer of the Earth and the Sun.

I think....

Bollox it's to do with atmospheric conditions, it's the Lords way of making the sky look pretty.

I have no problem with treating people like they want to be treated, but what I do object to is that religious types (not all Fred) see people without religion as without morals which is far, from the case.

And not all of Jesus' teachings were strictly moralistic either - the rather "dodgier ones" have been overlooked for the nice, cutesy ones.

Nah, its gods "matchpot" ,he sends one down so he can see what colour to paint the next ickle fluffy bunny so that it matches the grass and the nasty Muslims don't eat it

Jolly good, thought I was going quite mad when comments attributed to you as TS suddenly popped up with CF!

I think its the fact that the colours or the rainbow are the colours of the rays that make up light. When they are refracted, in this case by rain, the light is split into each coulour, the heaviest is blue i think, which refracts less as it is heavier and red is lighter so it refracts more.

A question to Fred and other Christian around, What is your opinion of othere religions? Surely if you were born in another place you would believe in another religion...

I totally agree Mk, hence me not being Religious at all.

But of course I believe in "God".

hear hear, if only it was the bloke next door who coveted my wife not some bloke she worked with, I'd have got him bang to rights.

There is no coloured light in a prism until you add Sunlight to it..So I think we are both on the same wavelength here.

Well obviously that would depend where wouldn't it? If I lived in Australia or America then I sincerely doubt it. Christianity has followers in most countries of the world you know, don't forget that missionaries were combing the far flung corners during much of the 19th century in particular.

As I've said many times in this thread, each to his own. I respect another's right to worship as long as it is within the law and not a "false idol". I might not agree with some religions and I also might not understand them. I do not feel the need to as I am satisfied with my own.

But what makes a false idol? Who deems that a bloke nailed to cross is an valid idol whereas some aliens from planet Zog arent?

Lol, so you believe in Aliens then but not God......Who said God is not an Alien, he/she would certainly be to us on this Planet.
