Released Players, Possible Transfer Targets?

Indeed, and now you can see why the loan move for him last season never happened!

Scott Golbourne, who I thought could've been a good signing for our vacant left back spot, has signed for Exeter.

Matt Holland is training with us at present, not because we are interested in signing him but because he wants to keep up his fitness and lives in Colchester.
Although he is 35 now he could still be a good player for someone in our league, I see him in the Mickey Stockwell mode, when we signed him I thought great another has been, but the guy did very well for us and dropped a lot of money just to play in a local football league team. It is believed he has been offered a new contract at Charlton but has not signed it yet because 1st team football is the most important thing to him not the money, he is also a free agent so might be worth a look.

Althought Holland is a good player, central midfielder is one of few areas we won't be looking to strengthen bar the possible addition of Lee Sawyer.

Iirekpen is a decent shout. I'm sure he was mention on here either last summer, or in January. Big, strong, comanding centre half.

Another centre back who we as fans could've possibly mentioned as a viable target, Chris Westwood, has signed for Wycombe.

Feeney would be a very good signing - current N.I. international IIRC?

Wages shouldnt be a problem if he is willing to talk to Grimsby surely?!

Indeed.

Was he not a winger when he was at Bournemouth?
