I think you are spot on - Holt is a cracking League 2 striker, he'll get 20+ goals in that league, but in L1 i think he will do well do get 12+

Add to that list Dean Gerken if you need a keeper he is a local lad and I believe had a spell at youth level with you boys previously. Mark Cousins has just signed a new 2 year deal with us, and now we are in for Ben Williams of Carlisle which seems to mean 2 things, Jimmy Walker is not coming back and Lambert does not rate Gerken. As you may know Deano did very well for us in our promotion season and 1st year in the Championship but he has gone off the boil a bit since then, but is still a very good keeper imho.

I'm utterly, utterly staggered you're in for him. Calamity isn't the word to describe Williams. Obviously as a Southend fan I hope you do get him, but surely you can't be happy with that? He's utter dross and Gerken is twice the keeper.

My thoughts exactly but it is being reported we have made a bid for him so we shall see, Gerken is a very good keeper but does struggle at dominating his box at corners etc. Lambert does not seem to rate him hence the loan at Darlington last season, there is talk of a move to Charlton to join up with Parky but they have 2 good keepers already.

I take it Lambert hasn't seen Williams "come" for crosses then!? All arms and legs and flapping. Every single time he's come to Roots Hall he's been terrible and his display for Carlisle at our place at the end of last season was really horrific. So much so he got an on pitch rollocking from his manager after about half an hour.

Least you're signing players I suppose. :unsure: :D

He must have seen something in him but God knows what, yes we are signing players but I expect the exodus to happen soon, Yeates has gone 4-5 others at least will be gone soon imho.

Daggers have lost a couple of players that I feel we could do with. I would have liked to maybe taken a punt on Sam Saunders (cue a slagging off here), but seen him a couple of times and thought that he may be the type of Gower player that we have missed over the past season, and seeing as he went on a free ..... also, the CB above, another worth a punt on though seeing as there will be a fee/compo not the same type as punt as Saunders. I still have faith that the 1 or 2 players bought in, plus the more likely 2 0r 3 loanees will be decent additions, but we need to realise that the cupboards are bare ... and we must cut our cloth accordingly.

Gerken gone to Bristol City on a 2 year deal, Williams has been down for a chat so we shall see.

Yes we have been trying to sign him for a while now, there are several clubs in for him but it sounds like we may have got our man, Coyne will be going very soon so it is a straight swop in some ways.

Guielem Bezulin and Jermaine Right are both transfer listed at Coventry and Blackpook wether we could get them....
