Absolutely, but like it or not, drugs are in far more evidence now than they used to be. Kids openly dealing in public places in areas where you wouldn't necessarily think - even about 10 years ago, there was an independent ice-cream van that used to work the Benfleet senior schools that used to fairly openly sell drugs to the kids! Like fbm, I've never touched drugs - cigarettes and alcohol are the worst I've done - so I don't "get" the drug culture although I recognise it's easy to find.

He needs to agree to priory inpatient, not just for the drugs... just the so many things..if he wants to be a pro, he would do it!

Time and chances have run out...ask the other clubs.... really sad thing is I looked at all the forums, they were waiting for him to fail again.

Unless he changes the people he associates with who are probably wannabe gangsters then I doubt he can improve his behaviour.

They are not wannabe, they are gangsters. He was part of a nasty gang in North London. The best thing he could of done is move down here when he first got his contract. Yes it would have meant staying in the Roslin until he had his own place. But it may have kept him out of trouble and bad influences, and away from his gang. I am told he is now looking for a place down here. A bit late now tho to realise he can't do football and gangsta lifestyle at the same time.

He has been renting down here a little while and has just moved into his new apartment.

I am incandescent with rage over this whole sorry charade.

I imagine anyone else with sons named Tes and Nile will be as well.

In fact poor Tes goes by his middle name, Barrington these days to avoid further embarrassment.

And apparently parties most nights through the night certainly through the early hours of the morning upsetting the other residents.

For gods sake how many chances can someone have. He came here with virtually hero status looks every bit the part but, as with every club in the past, his lifestyle comes before his football.

I really am so disappointed, not surprised, but disappointed that someone with so much talent can just wash it down the drain.

Tony Pulis seems delighted that Berahino has left the club. Maybe Phil should insist that Nile Ranger leaves SUFC. Nile has only managed ten appearances. It is not beneficial to have a player who is not available due to unfitness and drug abuse. The guy needs help of course but so far it has been more pain than gain for the club by keeping him on.

I'm not surprised he hasn't been sacked. Southend rarely sack people. Can't remember the last time they did that, actually. For example, our head groundsman has been with the club for 27 years.

Mind you, he best be careful. A player taking recreational drugs is one. Thing but should he fail to control nature and the axe deserves to swing.

I dont think the FAs doping tests are influenced by the legality of the substance , I would imagine the prohibited substances are based on the Wada lists.
Alcohol and tobacco are not considered peformance enhancers so ate not banned substances, but abuse could be dealt with under a clubs code of conduct.
if stimulants were found in a ppst match sample, I imagine the consequences would have been greater.

Yet if it was drink we would hold them in higher regard like Gascogne and Best....

And yes I'm all lit up again,
On the couch in my bed
And yes I'm all lit up again, flyin' high
I love the cocaine, I love the cocaine

Damn fine tune too

**** me, he dropped an E and did a line of charlie. Hardly reasons to string him up.

Tens or thousands will do the same tonight and will go to work on monday morning. The absolute hypocrisy in society over drugs v alcohol makes me laugh.

Nothing by way of an official statement coming out from the Club yet. I suppose I'm not surprised given it's so close to kick off. Better to focus on the match probably.

When is Ranger due back in court for sentencing does anyone know? I wouldn't mind betting that the Club will do nothing until they know the outcome of that.

I'm guessing there's a reason why recreational drugs are treated with more disdain by the FA than, say, drink driving?

Agreed, but driving whilst under the influence of it, Isn't

Surely if the FA want to act as judge and jury over player behaviour, then there should be bans in place for other misdemeanours.
