Have we missed him? Do we need him so badly that we're prepared as a Club to accept this. Role model my arse!

I reckon someone grassed him up. E & Coke is out of your system in 48 hours.

Not necessarily. They can be detected in hair samples. So unless the "testee" has 100% alopecia (I think that's the right word) then what the metabolism can do in 48 hours is irrelevant.

I'm sure they'd just do a urine test. I've been randomly drug tested myself (all staff can be within NR) and no scissors were involved.

I think we should sack him. It ****es me off that he does this then parades around instagram like some sort of gangster. If that was me who was suspended I'd keep my head down.

We gave him a chance and he blew it. The bloke just can't behave himself I think he needs psychological help.

Agreed, on both counts. No need for a 'verdict' from the FA then. It seems likely that the club are sticking by him, or they would surely have done something about it by now. It doesn't take this long to test a sample.
there most probably has been a verdict, it's been told to the club...8/10 game ban and rehabilitation...don't blame the FA.... now this news is out.

I would say the club are hush hush, they are now cobbling some announcement together.

I'm no drug expert, but is there a chance he's an addict and actually needs help?

Anyway I will wait for the full story (though we may never get that) and trust the club to handle this the right way

It is, but why were the testers there in the first place?

In fact I remember a now deleted tweet by another player who said something about "snakes".

I reckon you are right. Seems too much of a coincidence that the drug testers turn up on cue.

Probably Mooney hoping to move up the food chain now he's nearly fit

Let's embrace it - we can use this our new goal music

I think The Shamen would be a better goal celebration.. Naughty Naughty, E's are good...

forgot how funny that video was.... it's perfect for him...

Idiot. "Last chance", then gets a three and a half year deal and does something which would have had him sacked. If he still hasn't learnt then when will he?

Could be to do with the club making it public rather than treating it like West Brom and Berahino?

The tweet that mentioned "snakes in the grass" seemed to indicate to me at the time that NR had been grassed up.
If you act like a gangsta...then you make enemies.

Trying to get my head around the timeline, here.

Nile takes drugs at a party, I guess, on Saturday 7th January, so to be tested in the 48 hours window mentioned above, the FA has to be at the training ground by Monday 9th January, which doesn't leave much of a window for it to be reported to them by the club and for them to "randomly" turn up, unless someone at the party on the 7th informed someone and the FA found out via that source.

Not defending Nile, but this, of course, was the same week he appeared in court (11th January) so his head may have been a bit messed up and he appears to be easily influenced by others, reading between the lines.

Don't get me wrong. He's an idiot for drinking heavily in the last chance saloon, but there's something more to this "story" I think.

The club have given him a chance, in the hope he goes on the straight and narrow. Almost immediately, it seems he's let us down. Sorry...but on the assumption there was a clause in his contract, saying that he gets the tic-tac if he steps out of line, i'd get rid.

sadly wearing my retired social worker hat Nile has zero chance of not being in exactly the same situation in the future unless he ditches his current friends and associates. "Go on Nile have one, no one will know".
What he needs is a strong woman to sort him out. In my experience this is the one and only thing that makes a real difference to wayward young men. The club and manager can only do so much.

Paging MrsBlue!

I would love that Nile is given a very last chance but only as long as he is made aware and actually understands that his behaviour - he previously believed to be POWER Ranger - is in fact WEAK, stupid and pathetic like a child.
Supporters must play a role. If our more gullable fans cheer him on as the iconic "bad boy" then once again the weak side of Ranger will be glorified.
He has to be aware that those that gave him an opportunity and perhaps even one last chance - need him to show he does actually possess some POWER Ranger and is not just the obviously WEAKEST member of the squad.
