Promotion and relegation 2019/20 season

You would have to hope so, but i cannot see it. Would the prem be happy with 23 teams? They think they play too many game snow, then you have the European competitions to consider.
they'd can the League Cup for starters - maybe the FA Cup some of the top division sides go in at the 4th round instead but that's clunky. There is no answer that is constant across the board other than stopping it and restarting w/our promotion and relagation. It's the only verdict that stops litigation too as the rules state nothing is final until the last game is played. I don't mind being relegated, weirdly, but this is becoming more and more the most logical answer, not least due to the timing now.

All fair points, if the season starts late they will have to cancel the league cup anyway i think, for the lower divisions the checks trade may have to go

With 6 PL players testing positive at the weekend across 3 clubs I’d have thought this would only go up once they start training and could scupper plans for a full return.

Germany had ten the first week then they went down after the same measures as here i believe.

will be interesting to see where we go

I had the weird idea about ONLY playing the Checkatrade to start with (whenever that may be August/September - whatever) - nobody will complain about that being behind closed doors, certainly for the early rounds anyway.

It would be a good way to get players back to full fitness and would then allow the midweek nights these games are usually played to be available for league games. Maybe do the same for the early rounds of the League Cup too.

You could start the league season later giving more time for things to settle down.

Best chance of 3 point start for us would have been playing them at home in August like Gills and worse playing them away in late December.

I enjoy these games, and have seen more of the young lads than normally would be the case. Next season I would maybe get to see Fred Jnr make his 1st team debut in this competition!

I think the thing is if there is enough money to be found to invest in getting matches going the most premium tournaments will always take precedence

One player has already done that. Leyton Orient have done exceedingly well to negotiate Harry Kane(a former loan player) to sponsor/endorse their three kits for next season. Each top has a charity on it. Frontline workers, Mind and Haven House.
Kane has given a six figure sum for this and 10% of each sale goes towards the given charity.
The. O’s yesterday reported after only a few days a that they have already outsold last seasons total of replica tops.
i know some dislike Orient but they have without doubt secured an amazing sponsorship which raises funds for charity and the club and Kane has gone up even higher in my estimation.
kane has

I suspect a lot of the credit for that should go to Danny Macklin

Any fear that we go down.... and then effectively down again....?

I’m not against regionalisation. But any notion of parachute payments being extended is absurd. Atrocious idea which just exacerbated the current issues of overspending. The opposite needs to be happening.

Yep, he's absolutely right. Just void it now.
While it seems the best option there are still issues, i hated the option at first and have come round to it,, but they still as i say have obstacles to sort and clear.

also obviously it is in Tranmere best interests not to be relegated, they would need to cut their cloth as much as us i believe. It is again one clubs take on their own perception to protect them selves.

but it as i say seems the best option but they need to resolve the issues and come up with what the costs are on TV and solidarity payments to be repaid if they do that

There is no solution to make everyone happy. Clubs will argue that they could have escaped relegation/been promoted....no one will compromise and the legal fall out may kill many clubs and the EFL itself.....and they'll have no one to blame but themselves.
