Promotion and relegation 2019/20 season

Darragh MacAnthony is another man who talks an awful lot of sense (see the attached article again from the Guardian). A man with his business acumen and knowledge of the finances associated with owning/running a lower league club needs to be listened to by those running the game. We all know that won't ever happen though. Instead we will continue to get rediculous ideas such as shortening a game of football to ensure we get the season finished before the end of July!

Top article, that man talks a lot of sense

Bundesliga has been allowed to continue behind closed doors. Think this could influence any decision for the English leagues. They’ll see how things go for them before making a decision over here.

Interesting quote from the chief exec of the DFL...
"Games without spectators are not an ideal solution for anyone. In a crisis threatening the very existence of some clubs, however, it is the only way to keep the leagues in their current form."

The rest of Europe will be watching!

The key for the Bundesliga is playing games in order to keep the dough either from TV or sponsors.
It doesn't apply in the EFL for the most part - and surely not in Leagues One and Two.

Look let’s be honest- no point looking at Germany, they have a tenth of the deaths, are on top of their situation and are in a different world. I don’t want to get into politics but borrowing Merkel on loan as PM 3 months ago would have been a great move. But all that is water under the bridge. move on.

It's not water under the bridge -the incompetants are still in charge.

They're weeks ahead of us. I remember seeing somewhere that UEFA wanted leagues to start by 25th I think. Ours won't

You can imagine the thousands of scousers congregating outside Anfield and/or the neutral venue where they clinch they title.
It kicked off big time when PSG tried to play a match behind closed doors.

Dutch minister just announced that there will be no football matches in Holland taking place with fans until a vaccine is found.

That could be a long time.

I just saw that, a very bold statement to make and one I don’t think they will stick by.

So the Bundasliga has been given the green light but is conditional on tests being all clear etc.
How about the lower German leagues? And aren't , other than the top two tiers, they part time?

There is a difference between a vaccine being found and being rigorously tested. Not to come across as pedantic but the testing would normally take years and years so I think it's basically impossible to wait for such a thing and expect any of the creative and sporting industries to still be in existence.
