Pre-game entry music

I am biased as they are by far my favourite band of all time, but Iconoclast by Symphony X is a chaotic and stirring way to get the crowd going.
The lines at the drop...

Victory or death
Only time will tell
Synthetic resurrection
From the heart of hell

Symphony X - Iconoclast

My dad had a short stint at doing the match day music in the late 90s and used to play War of the World's thanks to @Kenny who got it burnt on to a CD for him.

Back then, the club used to receive dozens of promos each week and then one came through that to this day is part of Southend United heritage! I actually still have it, it went by the name of Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation. Some of you might know it 🙌

That replaced the Cockerel Chorus goal music and the rest is history!
Damn, I remember fixing that up. War of the Worlds intro dropping into Kernkraft 400, I think it might have had some crowd noise too (because it was big in the NHL). I'm no uber producer, so chopped it together on my PC.

Shame the sound system in the South and everywhere else was next to hopeless back then.

It was the chant edit. Different class it was, not sure fans would have known what to do back then if that was boomed over the speakers we have now.

We used to have a 6 cd changer that was the slowest thing ever and a tape deck. It got to the stage that cds were recorded on tapes because the tape deck levels were so much clearer and louder than the cd.

Those were the days...3500 crowds, David Morley leading the line, Martyn Margetson flapping at pea rollers but Scott Houghton cutting inside and putting one top bins out of no where!

I love Bolero but think it should be the penultimate track as the teams leave their dressing rooms.

First choice for me is Together in electric dreams by Oakey and Moroder.

‘We’ll always be together,
How ever far it seems.

We’ll always be together,
Together in electric dreams’

Why not send instructions to the team?

Apply some pressure by maximo park
No money by galantis (for the RM years)
anything could happen by Ellie Goulding

Or to the fans?

Love, hope, and misery by Jake bugg
Siting, waiting, wishing by Jack Johnson
Leave fast by Sam fender

And finally just for @GrumpyBlue

Ban all the music by nothing by theives

i've been well into this since last night. got to be Zombie Nation, Sandstorm with commentary, Bolero. That's our pre-match music.

someone else said about other clubs having more songs about the club rather than players, and I like that. but from the fans, rather than over the system. could we coordinate more with the blue voice for what's over the system and what's from the fans?

Around 2007ish, the club ran a competition to create a club anthem. Numerous songs were suggested, the winner was 'Bridge over troubled water' by Simon and Garfunkle.

Lyrics were printed, it was used for a handful of games and even though it was a majority vote from the fans it was fruitless. It soon got dropped.

My personal choice back then was 'It's Now or Never' by Elvis. I thought the sound of a crowd chanting that with a version of SUFC lyrics would be great. It didn't win so never pushed it.

Many moons ago, i was provided with a cd from a local band (i think they were called The Colours or something similar). The song was 'when Southend United come out to play sing up, sing up...' that was sung by the Blue voice back then.

Having met Rhys last month, I need to pull my finger out and carry through something that I suggested. May take a bit of time but I'm working on something big that would be great if it comes off. If it doesn't then I won't say what it was going to be!

As I've said already in the thread, contact me on here, message the club. We are all in this together and I would love to work with the Blue Voice on this and unite the stadium. We have had them sing along to some songs like Three little birds, Ring of fire, twist and shout.

I know it has been suggested in the past to get the music volume down at certain points when the crowd are in good voice. I will always try my best to do this and their atmosphere will always be better than a speaker. If the speakers can help set something off and unite the Roots hall roar then that would be amazing.

The one I've always thought would sound great and would be great to dedicate to COSU is Sunshine on Leith! We could change one letter and say Leigh!
Words after the last few years seem appropriate.
I know its Hibs and obviously Proclaimers but TBV belting this out would be fantastic!
