Phil Brown was on last nights North West version of Late Kick Off. He was joined by Kevin Davies and when the presenter was asking Davies where he wants to be next season Brown said Southend's a great place. Phil Brown seems to be doing a lot of media work recently up north. IIRC Brown has only managed up north and played up north, maybe he cant settle down south and with Sheffield being a northern team????????????????????????????
Would love Kevin Davies to be with us next season! Imagine him and BBBC up front... :punch:
There is nothing to stop me, you, PB or anyone else applying. How much further our applications would get is anyone's guess.
Nothing surprises me with this club it may be just bull **** but then again this is Southend we are talking about here
Well there's no saying this is true is there. However before getting the SUFC job, Phil Brown was amusing us all by sitting on the Sky Sports sofa and blatantly looking for this job, that job, ANY job. Let's not delude ourselves that he has any particular affiliation with SUFC or that he's ever going to.
It re-raises the issue of why he was appointed. I've been ticked off by many zoners for not giving the new manager a chance, and to be fair they are right - we should always get behind a new player or manager. However there was something very wrong about this particular appointment right from the start. The sacking of PS was in my view bad enough. But the appointment of PB wasn't and isn't a good fit either. There were many other candidates - Coughlan, Harris, Barker, Devonshire, Edinburgh - and that's without really thinking.
And of course Sheffield United don't want him. He's one of those managers that fans don't want as he's all glitz and no substance. It's like when your team appoints Howard Wilkinson or Glenn Roeder. You're not hopeful.

If this is true then personally think he should walk or be made to walk if we can do so without cost ourselves. Complete lack of respect for the club, players and the fans.
