Why on earth would Sheffield United Football Club consider the application of a manager that recently signed a contract with Southend United? Has not had an opportunity to set the world alight so far and was unemployed for ages prior to that.

They would laugh!

They wouldn't. But it would go to show that if we get off to a decent start next season and some other club are interested in Brown then he'll be off like a shot.

If this is true then it's further evidence that this was a truly terrible appointment for our club.

If it's true, regardless of whether he gets the Sheffield job or not I'd sack him.

Clearly not fully interested in the club if he's reported to be looking elsewhere already.

This is outrageous if true, shows a complete lack of respect and commitment to the club who's let him back into football management when no one else would have him. He wouldn't get the Sheff Utd job anyway as there are plenty of better candidates around, but if he has applied then I'd like to know what Ron thinks of it or if he even knows. He does seem like the kind of manager who jumps ship at the first chance to move up the career ladder.

If true and he left, he would be the first manager to leave under RM not owed wages :winking:

Right let's get it straight.

Phil Brown's interpreter let slip that us Southern Softies don't match up to the manager's ideas of real men. He is disgusted that none of us live in holes in the road or use central heating --- he was brought up sitting round his dad's tongue whilst he dad sucked a peppermint to keep the family warm.

He feels a move back oop north will mean people can understand everything he says, and he misses faggots and peas.

With Phil brown, if he does rubbish he will get sacked, if he does well he will leave ASAP. I doubt he will be here this time next year

And there I was thinking that, in Essex and with his colour, he'd found his spiritual home!

If this is proved true (and where is Pubey when you need him, with his ear to the ground in Sheffield?!) then he can sling his hook. Was prepared to give him every chance, but if his heart is NOT in it, to the level of applying for another job just a few months into his contract, then that's pretty disgusting as far as I'm concerned.

Phil Brown was on last nights North West version of Late Kick Off. He was joined by Kevin Davies and when the presenter was asking Davies where he wants to be next season Brown said Southend's a great place. Phil Brown seems to be doing a lot of media work recently up north. IIRC Brown has only managed up north and played up north, maybe he cant settle down south and with Sheffield being a northern team????????????????????????????

If it's true then he can go, immediately! I doubt we'll actually find out if it's actually true anyway as he (or anyone else connected with the club) probably wouldn't admit it to the fans...

The only real bad news here is that Sheffield United aren't that stupid!

If you wanna go Phil then I'll drive you there myself!
