I've come round to the way of thinking recently that it might be best if the club and manager do part ways but Sturrock has made some great points in the two big interviews that he has made in the last week and certainly didn't sound like a manager on the way out in either of them.

If this is true then I think it is a shame the way this has come about and am very grateful for everything that he has done for our football club including our big day out in two weeks time.

As much as Sturrock deserves his day at Wembley, decisions need to be made with the clubs best interests at heart and not sentiment towards an individual.

If the decision has been made as its believed it will give us a better chance at achieving the unlikely task of making the play offs against our form over the last 4/5 months then that's the decision I'll support, even if it does seem harsh on Sturrock.

Besides with the Wembley carrot being dangled, it makes now the best chance of getting a decent replacement in for PS.

Total bollocks. Maybe in December if at all, with a month to go a really pointless. We need stability and sacking a manager will do totally the opposite.

makes sense.. no play offs, no promotion... money in the bank from JPT regardless of who is in charge. Gives time to re build for next season rather than the last minuite non scramble for players we normally have.

Trust you are joking - there is no money in the bank and the summer will prove very interesting - let's hope we still have 11 contracted players come August as wouldn't be surprised if we are unable to sign anyone.

I said to Em after Tuesday's game that he would have been sacked after the Wimbledon game (the Tues before!) but Wembley will have saved him a couple of week's grace. Looks like i was wrong. At the end of the day, he was lucky (from the noises RM was making) to be here for this season, let alone next season after another unsuccessful season.

Total shock, This spells 2 things to me though if true.

1) PS and RM had an argument and he's walked, or...

2) We have someone else lined up and ready

Indeed. Regardless of who is manager there are some very worrying times ahead, IMO.

Oh FFS, the SUFC Board of Directors strikes again, thanks for everything Paul. From not having a team to manage when you joined to potentially having a great one if injuries hadn't have struck. You will be missed.

If PS has been sacked, there must be a manager in the pipeline. Thank you for everything Paul - if the story is true, but we need to support our new manager. He needs to win over the player in a very short amount of time. Don't let him need to win over us, as the fans too.

If true then wow! I've already said in other threads that he's failed to take us up for two seasons now when that has to have been the target and therefore I'd be in favour of a change. Right before Wembley with the play offs highly unlikely...that's a ruthless decision by Martin. But, football's a very unforgiving business...football management even more so.
