This is weird.

Story removed and front page replaced with Sturrock's annoyance at Rochdale postponement...
Has Someone hacked the Echo website?

This rumour has been going around since early this morning, so very odd to print it then retract it.

Tweet from Chris Phillips last night, makes me pretty sure that the article was written by him:

"
Trying to find out if what I've just been told is true or not. But, wow, if it is, I'm in for a busy day tomorrow!"

Edit: Already mentioned, ignore that.

Really hope this isn't true, though. I'd have accepted it if he'd left at the end of the season or after April 7th, unfair to deny him Wembley.

If this is true, RM is a bigger fool than I ever thought he was. Having spent some time chatting to Sturrock recently, I have nothing but respect and admiration for him.

As much as Sturrock deserves his day at Wembley, decisions need to be made with the clubs best interests at heart and not sentiment towards an individual.

If the decision has been made as its believed it will give us a better chance at achieving the unlikely task of making the play offs against our form over the last 4/5 months then that's the decision I'll support, even if it does seem harsh on Sturrock.

Besides with the Wembley carrot being dangled, it makes now the best chance of getting a decent replacement in for PS.

Chris did say last week he had spent all day on a big story and then couldnt print it ... !?

Leaving at seasons end but club don't want it printed because they want it under wraps until after the JPT match? Mayhaps ?

If it's true, then I hope we line someone up who is capable of putting a team together in a short space of time, with little or no money and umbongos!

Ermm I did hear the words Phil Brown uttered about but that may be bollocks of course.
