Michael Jackson Dies

You know I'm dead,i'm dead
You know it
(dead dead-really,really dead)
You know I'm dead- you know-hoo
(dead dead-really,really dead)
you know I'm dead- i'm dead
And the whole world has to
Answer right now.
Just to tell you once again...
Just to tell you once again...
Who's dead?

I was on the phone to Mrs DS in America last night, when her sister told her Jackson had just died.

While it's a suprise, it's not a total shock. Bad was the first album I ever bought, and while I grew out of his music, I can still see the impact he had on pop music.

The guy had his faults but there can be no doubt that his father & the fame thrust upon him at such a young age are what did that to him.

Micheal Jackson: a man that made some good music and alot of people loved.

Now back to the jokes, they are making me chuckle.

Agree with that.

Finished work for the day already and I'm keeping the music channels on all day. Sod the news, they're just recycling the same stories/rumours. I want his music.

Listen to Radio 1, half an hour on his music starting now.

The coroner is unsure what the put on Michael Jacksons death certificate as cause of death...they don't know whether to blame on the sunshine, the moonlight, the good times or the boogie....

Jockeys at ascot tomorrow will be wearing black armbands in memory Michael Jackson who successfully rode more 3 years olds than anyone else in history

I've just been thinking about the cruelty of the timing just months before his sell-out concerts. I could of course be taking two and two to make five, but there has to be a high chance the extra stress and pressure he would have been putting himself under to perform in these gigs was what saw him buckle under. His music defined him and then took his life.

RIP one of music's greatest icons.

I dont understand how somebody dieing all of a sudden causes everybody to act so childish and feels the need to joke and laugh at somebody elses expense. This is a human being that has died and a legendary, iconic one at that.

I'm in shock. The jokes are inevitable, and probably deserved; and as a person, his legacy is a controversial one - the molestation allegations, the dangling of his own children over the balcony, the extraordinary plastic surgery (interestingly, Trevor Nelson said that many black kids, like himself, who had grown up with the Jackson 5 felt that MJ had "abandoned" them).

However, his musical legacy is astounding, unbelievable, beyond question. Thriller was the first album I ever bought, and still remains a work of consummate genius almost 30 years later. It may be, perhaps, the greatest pop album ever recorded; what is beyond doubt is that it is the greatest-selling album of all time - having sold c. 105 million copies, which makes it almost 2.5 times more successful than the number two album in the all-time list (ACDC's Back in Black, with 45 million). Moreover, given how music is bought today, it is highly likely that it will never be outstripped.

Jackson was the first black artist ever to be shown on MTV; he effectively created the modern music video with Thriller (look at videos before Thriller - they are, essentially, videos of the band playing their song); he was, in his day, perhaps the greatest showman in pop music; he was an incredible dancer, inventing moves like the moonwalk; he recorded the best-selling album of all time; and he wrote and performed some of the finest pop music we'll ever hear.

In truth, we lost that Michael Jackson some time ago - although, who knows, maybe he would have rediscovered that person during his London concerts. I guess we'll never know.

RIP Michael.

When I die, I genuinely hope theres some good jokes to be had. As I've said already, it's so, so sad, that a genius like Michael has left us, but humour helps heal.

100% agree!

If people can take the p1$s while i'm alive they may as well do it when i'm gone if it make them feel better!

RIP MJ.

Farrah Fawcett arrives at the pearly gates and Saint Peter Grants her one wish, so she thinks for a minute and says "I wish all the children in the world to be safe".

Hours later and Micheal Jackson dies from heart attack.

What with Lewis Hamilton winning the F1 world championship, Barack Obama being president of the USA, Will Smith being the world's highest paid actor and Tiger Woods being the world's best golfer, it has never been cooler to be black.

Poor old Michael Jackson must be kicking himself.

As my own personal tribute to Mr Jackson, I'm going to moonwalk to the shops, making weird high pitched noises on the way, then I'm going to stop outside a school and gyrate and grab my crotch until I get arrested and taken to court.

Kind Regards

So just another normal day for you young Tarquin.

My tribute will be taking on the persona of Jarvis Cocker at the Brit Awards whilst humming Earth Song.

The same human being that slept in a bed with minors? Would you let your kids into bed with him?
