Yup,

Love him or hate him and all the "was he or was he not" a kiddy fiddler to one side........... from an entertainment point of view he was a Legend.

nah just ripping you cos we've been chatting on it for about 4 pages/1 hr, and you posted like it was breaking news!

after all this news, i think i'm going to go to bed
(with macaulay culkin)

Michael Jackson is dead

As a 40 year old bloke, I kind of grew up with his music so it has come as a bit of a shock, regardless of all of the controversy and I don't know if it was true or not and neither does any one one this forum.

He reputedly changed his appearance as much as he did to avoid looking like his father because he blamed him for taking away his childhood.

Love him or hate him, it is hard to disagree that he has probably been the biggest impact on popular music of all time. Paul Gambaccini still measures live performances against a Jackson performance as the yard stick

Disagree here, Dave - your very own David Bowie has been far more influential...

Not on world pop music mate........even though to me Bowie is GOD, I still feel that his impact on international pop music is way below Mr Jacksons, thank god!!!!

Bowie was influential to artists who held him as ground breaking and a genius of the changing face of music at the highest level.

Jackson was probably one of the, if not the biggest pop artist of all time.

People like Ian Brown from the Stone Roses do not cover his music for no reason at all.

It is sad but that fact that he drags around so much controversy will take away from his music and artistry. It would be nice if people remembered him for his music.

750 Million record sales says it all realy

It's easy because of the controvesy, don't get me wrong I've posted a couple of jokes but completeley respect what he has done for music, and I'm very sad for his family RIP MJ.

The first tape I ever purchased was the Dangerous album.

Blimey, that's a random thing to have in common, chadders...!

Billie Jean was #1 when I was born, and Thriller topped the album charts. Grew up loving his music, though I missed his peak (lucky for a child of my age, some might suggest). Ignoring the controversy around Jackson's private life though, the man was an amazingly talented performer and the undoubted 'King of Pop'.

First time I've ever heard about the death of a musician, and thought: "F***".
