Michael Jackson Dies

On a slightly different note, I will pretend to be shocked when Cliff Richard dies in approximately 2 weeks time.

Yeah, you heard me.. Two weeks...*

Kind Regards

*if he does die in 2 weeks in suspicious circumstances, delete this post. Ta.

I was alive when JFK died, but was too young to remember it (3)...but I remember his brother Bobby being shot in '68, so here's my ghoulish top 5 list:-

1. Bobby Kennedy
2. Elvis
3. Lennon
4. Bobby Moore
5. George Best

Not a celebrity for everyone, but Joe Strummer's death was a massive shock for me.
being similar ages, I would concur, adding Diana to the list

Celebrity deaths which have sent a shiver down my back and genuinely made me feel sad are a different matter though.

Barry Sheene
John Peel
Bobby Moore
Joe Strummer
Steve Hislop

I remember feeling angry when Roy Castle bought the farm but only because I'd written him a letter months before asking to come on Record Breakers and the **** never replied.

With you on John Peel.

Snooker player Paul Hunter was a blow. A bloke pretty much the same age as me and someone who I watched many times on the tv. He had been ill for a while of course, but it still came as a shock.

I'm no F1 fan, but I can remember exactly where I was upon hearing that Ayrton Senna was 'clinically dead'. That was a biggie.

yeah Senna and Peel are the two that definitely upset me. Marc-Vivien Foe stands out as well (least of all because of the haunting images of him being stretched off)

It felt to me abit surreal at first when I heard this news and I think it has taken most of the day to sink in.....This death does rate up with the top 5 in my lifetime to...and his Music without doubt as MTS said is fantastic, he obviously has problems proven or not and yes I think most of those come from his upbringing....People in glass houses etc....Ken mentioned earlier about soldiers dying for us and I have to agree that is more commendable but with Jacko I am not far off his age and from the Jackson 5 to his own personel albums he was without doubt a star in the music industry if not the biggest we have ever seen this past 30 years.

A very sad day for Music and of course his family IMO.

Please don't forget the British soldiers dying around the world in the name of peace. They are far more praiseworthy.

:clap::clap::clap:

I dont understand how somebody dieing all of a sudden causes everybody to act so childish and feels the need to joke and laugh at somebody elses expense. This is a human being that has died and a legendary, iconic one at that.

Show some respect

Respect my ar$e. Do I care he's carked it? No, not for one second. Do I care that the world has lost another (alledged) kiddy fiddler? No, not for one second. Do I care that the world has lost possibly one of THE most irresponsible parents to have walked this earth? No, not for one second.

So he made a few great records. So ****ing what..... He made a few great videos. So ****ing what......BIG DEAL.

Is his death going to in any way shape or form influence my life? No, not one iota. Call me callous but I really couldn't give a monkey's right nutsack that he's croaked. Why should I?

Move on people. There are far far more deserving people dieing every hour of every day but I guess that doesn't make good media or 8 page threads on forums does it?

The young chap that he paid off to keep quiet is within his rights now to tell all so i can see him doing a piece in one of the papers , then we can really see what a filth monger MJ was ......makes no odds tio me that he's popped it , all about Karma IMO.

Yep karma is the way forward, just leaves glitter and kays mate to pop off and the world will be a cleaner place.

Everyone is different, but I can honestly say that if I was a father, and someone abused one of my children, then no amount of money would have ever made me even think about settling out of court and not get full and proper justice. Ever.

Exactly, and being a father I can tell you I wouldn't settle either. So from that you have to wonder whether or not they were just after the cash...

On another note there is usually a thread that is done around new year with predictions on who people think will move onto a better place. I cant find this thread, wonder if anyone predicted Jacko.

For the record the news is really sad, shame to see his latter years make him look like a circus act. Produced some absolutely sensational music in the 70's and 80's which would of formed a soundtrack to most peoples lives.

Ldnfasto will root that one out, but Jackson wasn't on anyone's list.
