Mark Molesley

MM got more points against the exact same opponents that Brown faced, Brown got us "close" because he had easy fixtures (anyone without something to play for was already thinking about their holidays), and he still managed to **** up the most important one.
100% this. Still can't believe Ron brought back PB for the most important run of games in the club's history when the guy has never experienced a 'new manager bounce' anywhere in his entire career. Still believe we'd have had more chance of staying up if we'd stuck with MM, but we'll never know.

We would of still gone down. Our main issue all season was scoring goals! Chairman sold 2 strikers before the start of the season and not replacing them pretty much sealed our fate. January transfer window gave us chance to right the wrongs but unfortunately for us the recruitment in that period was dire and non existent. All we needed to do was bring in 1 striker who can score few goals and we would of comfortably stayed up. Cheers ron ?

As probably even you know but hate to admit ,MM was never given enough money to field a decent starting eleven, yet alone effective substitutes.
Have to disagree with this to some extent. If you went to aldershot that shows just how boring his style of football was and no matter how much money he was given I could not see him doing much else than try to defend a 1-0 lead from the 5th min of any game. Nice bloke, poor manager.

Agree, I watched Aldershots limp display v Stockport and it was an A Typical MM set up and play, no teeth and once behind no plan B.

His style at Weymouth was rather more expansive. I think it is worth giving thought to the idea that he might not have the players to play the type of football he would prefer (as he seemed to find out here too) and that he has gone for pragmatism as a temporary step.
Indeed. When MM first arrived here he wanted to play attractive football from the back, which was mocked, but he quickly realised we didn't have the players to do that, especially with Kelman, Hutch and Humphrys leaving shortly after he arrived. Hence the gradual switch to ugly tactics.

I occasionally visit the Aldershot site to see what the fans think of him and some were complaining that their midfield was too open and picked off easily. After the thrashing by Wrexham (0-6?), fans wanted him out but results improved when he switched to ugly tactics and all of a sudden he was highly praised.

Now of course they are on a bad run and criticism is rife. Not sure but I think they've lost an influential player recently who had made the system work more effectively.

Ideally a manager in his position should be given a chance to change things in the subsequent pre-season so he can impose his tactics by bringing in the right players - you don't win a double promotion like he did by being a poor manager - but football is a cut-throat business.

We'll never know how this season would have panned out had he stayed with us and been given the same tools as PB in the summer. Glad MM is no longer our manager of course; just a shame we had to go through the pain caused by his successor to stabilise.

Told you all when he was here he is a **** manager and people trying to justify him having a tough hand is just wrong. Didn’t he bring something stupid like 20 players. He is a clueless PE teacher. Just like almost all of the games he was manager for us his football was absolutely shocking and after going to aldershot away game this season it shows his negative style of football and his absolute cluelessness.

Agreed
