Mark Molesley

my dear friend I know nothing about football management ... I am not a football manager ...

Mark Moseley is a non league football manager. He was given the opportunity to manage a well supported professional football club in the EFL .

He FAILED and got them relegated.

He FAILED ... he got us relegated .. he was ****e ..

I can;t stand seeing his name ... I think Billy Bunter could have kept us up.

I thought his gang of mates was a joke

The team always looked clueless ..

I glad you have a different opinion and am delighted he is doing so well back in the non league world where he came from

The man who took us non league - can't stand the sight of him... YUK YUK

He always looked non league in his trainers ..

a nightmare - wtf did you remind me of it

aAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

I know he was dealt a poor hand, but he didn't do himself any favours IMO. After getting us on a decent run, he messed around with formation, which took us back to square one. We also played some of the worse football I had seen for a long while and name one player who showed any signs of improvement during the season???

I personally wouldn't boo him, but there is no way he deserves an applause!!

History has already forgotten the injuries/suspensions to three of our centre midfielders that forced the change of formation, I see.

Let’s be honest, the position we find ourselves in is not down to Molesley as much as it isn’t down to Sol, Kevin Bond or Phil Brown. It all stems from woeful mismanagement of the club by one man.

However, the brand of football we played under Molesley deserves a boo (even if it’s just a quiet under the breath one) alone!
Unfortunately that brand of football was a result of not having the tools needed to play a more more dynamic attractive style because he lost players like Humphrys, Kelman and Hutchinson very early on, forcing him to change his more attractive style of play.

Indeed. Add to that the injury to Clifford and the subsequent realisation that Sam Hart was unable to play in a back four.

History also seems to have forgotten the whinging that occurred when MM attempted to play from the back at the beginning of the season.

It will be interesting to see how MM sets up tonight.

The ballad of Mark Molesley

The Ballad of Mark Molesley

I gave it my best shot

But I couldn’t stop the rot.

I wanted them to build from the back

But fans gave me too much flak

About the way which we play

And the players couldn’t do it anyway.

We just kept on losing

It wasn’t my choosing

I wanted them to go forward more

But I shouted and swore and told them to score

We practised shooting all day

But the players couldn’t do it anyway.

Carrying just too much cargo

No money and an embargo

I pleaded with Ron for new men

He snorted and said wait for January then

And change the way that we play

But the players couldn’t do it anyway.

I thought it was sinister

He was on the phone to India

Where I knew Phil Brown could be found

I tried new ideas on the training ground

Set pieces and tricks every day

But the players couldn’t do it anyway.

By the end of January

We faced a quandary

No players will sign for us

Ron said “Mark, make no fuss

Just tell ‘em park the bus”

But the players couldn’t do it anyway.

We were back in danger

Ron gave me Nile Ranger

Who was clearly unfit

And a bit of a git

I prayed for good luck on Saturday

But the players couldn’t do it anyway

But then parking the bus

Was working for us

Though our play was a real bore

We were drawing matches more

A few wins would save the day

But the players couldn’t do it anyway

Safety was so close

But other teams had to lose

“You’re history” said Ron

And so I was gone

A new manager will make it okay

But Phil Brown couldn’t do it anyway……

That is brilliant, quite brilliant!

Anyone who boos is a ****
Charming as always. I won't be booing him, because I'll be 5,000 miles away and there's not really much point. Other than the Colchester game, it's worth remembering that Phil Brown got better performances from the same group of players than Molesley, and he's certainly not the favourite of the chattering classes on SZ. RM is the main villain, but I hold MM at least partially responsible for our descent into non-league. Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but we should have hired Currie then.

I think we were relegated some sort of points per game thingy .. and sure its good to disagree cos I liked the way Sol played our youth products ... and I liked the way he dealt with Hutchinson .

He certainly got the team fit and organised - he never moaned about the club and left without enforcing his contract payoff

I am also a bit cynical about the smear campaign that was mounted against him cos I know about some other managers who had personal issues did not get it publicised .. who knows though .. at one point it sounded serious and the next thing not so .

Nothing much has been said about one time hero R Duncan - I wonder what was going on there .

But I was totally wrong about Phil Brown mk2 - I thought it was a good idea at the time but it was clearly a total disaster ...

blah blah - 3 points tom is all that matters
What a very strange, blinkered and down right obsurd view you have on the last few years/managers. Hope life is good in Neverland!

Also these are the teams we beat when we had our good period:

Scunthorpe (finished 22nd)
Grimsby (finished 24th)
Colchester (finished 20th)
Barrow (finished 21st)

It's not like we were outplaying good teams, we were beating teams that were as bad as us (maybe worse considering we had to play catch-up thanks to the embargo).

The only line I agree with in Barling Magna long ditty is the line your history lets move on the blokes not worth it

Odd really how Mark Moseley managed to get himself a half decent gig at a full time football club quite quickly while Sol hasn’t worked in football since other than a short stint with Sky where he made himself look a complete tit with his lack of knowledge that Phil Foden was left footed when suggesting the defender should’ve shown him ‘inside’ onto his weaker left foot…….

Personality matters...

Sol Campbell strikes me as having the type of personality that would see him struggle to land voluntary work.
