It's pretty obvious that there is a done deal near enough on the table. Probably just haggling over the % of Maher's wages they will pay while he is on loan.

Ron can dress that statement up how he likes, but anyone who can read between the lines can clearly see a deal is pretty close to being agreed, but the Echo were just too quick out of the blocks.

Yep this is the point being made.

We can all read between the lines and deduce what we want from it, however the fact is that until the OS reads "Maher gone to Gillingham on loan" we cant take any other source as gospel.
