Secondly, was it near any flags that were similar? I mean, other similar sized St George flags?

Its a ****ing flag for gods sake get over it.

Dave if you don't find it I will pay to get you a new one and I will use my connections to get it signed for you by the whole team ok mate.

Scott, cheers mate, i appreciate that.

I know it is just a flag and i might be over reacting but it was purchased 3 years ago in connection with my son who i do not see any more and then my wife (knowing the importance of it) arranged for it to be signed at a 40th bash i had at the club.

Both Ron and Dave Crown then took the flag to the changing rooms to get it signed and then handed it back to me with a signed ball as well.

It is very sentimental to me mate, pretty much irreplaceable......i know it begs the question of why did i take it if it is worth so much to me but i honestly never for one second thought that someone would nick it.....why would they for gods sake, it has Aberdeen Shrimper across it.

Nope....have a look at the extended highlights on Blues World mate....you can see it next to Ant's Irish flag as the final whistle goes and the cams pan back to show the celebrating Southend fans.

It was the only St George Cross to the right of the goal as you look at the Shed from the pitch

OK.............The plot thickens, i have just watched the extended highlights on Blues World and can clearly see my flag to the very right of the goal next to Ant's Irish's Flag as the final whilst goes........so someone had it after the final whistle.

I can not wait to speak to Chelsea FC and the Met police tomorrow.

Davey, were both flags hanging properly or were they lifted up onto the top of the signage at that stage? I think I read somewhere on here that stewards asked people in the front row to lift the flags up. Maybe yours accidentally came loose and fell down to the lower tier?

Mate....it was still hanging it the same spot after the final whistle and was not moved through out the whole game

I can pin point it to with in 3 to 4 mins of when it went mate.....the cords were left there but the flag was taken

Or pulled down in all the excitement....

Maybe you could organise a reconstruction?

We just need someone to play you as you obviously couldnt play yourself. Who do we know who is a Southend fan and the right height....

I assume it is the one circled in yellow. This picture was taken just after the final whistle.

I would not know mate....i am not a police man, but if you want to check i can PM you the phone number and case number if you want to check??

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

no ;)

I could find out by popping next door.....not cos thats where your flag is being held hostage but thats where the local PCSO lives...:stunned:

To be fair, I know there's been a few sarcy comments on here, but it is a shame. Sentimental value can't be measured, and it is pretty low to just take someones flag, when it's worthless to you. Hopefully you realise the sarcy comments are just jokes. :)

i would just like to say that i was in france when the alledged theft occured. I have a picture of me to prove where i was...

I know they are mate.....i guess some folk struggle to say something nice and have to keep up the pretence which is why it comes over as sarcy.

To be fair, some of the sarcy comments have made me laugh and i take them with a pinch of salt.

Cheers for your honesty mate....very refreshing
