Lost flag - please PM Aberdeen Shrimper

Sure no one's nicked it Dave, it just fell down at it's stuck in Chelsea's lost property box with Lampard's spare donuts.

I have spoken to the Stadium manageress at Chelsea this Morning and she assures me they have no flags in lost property and she even saw the flags being taken down.

To me it is worth getting both clubs involved and the police as someone has stolen a item of property at a football match.....it is called breaking the law no matter how you want to dress it up pal

Do you really the Club and the Police will go through CCTV footage to find someone who will be very difficult to trace, just to find a flag?

I think you might be wasting your time with this one.

sorry to hear your flag is still missing I would have thought someone would have seen it by now! Its really weird that yours was the only one taken, surely someone from here would have seen it if it fell down? hope you get it back!

I am really sorry to hear about your flag, A friend of mine also has a flag which is very dear to him for various reasons, I know how devastated he would be if he lost it. I hope you get it back.

Or in the Southend office....maybe someone picked it up and has yet to hand it in. With it being in the away end it might well be handed in to the Southend stadium.

Dave - obviously you are angry at your loss but not sure you should be accusing someone of theft when you dont know that to be the case. It would be better to provide both clubs with your name and address so that if it gets handed in you will be informed. And even if it isnt you may well assume someone has stolen it but even then you dont know for sure its a Southend supporter. A steward may have kept it for example. I hope you get it back but dont be too hasty to apportion blame.

IMO a call to Chris Phillips at the Echo is the way forward . I am sure he would help by putting a plea in the paper for it's safe return.

I'd go further than that and get an advert put in the programme for this Saturdays game, and for Chelseas next home game. See if it can be announced over the PA as well.

We can sort the SUFC programme (which I will try to do today) but I don't know whether CFC would do one though..

The police have issued me with a ref number and will be contacting the club regards CCTV. The chap said that it makes no diffrence if it is £50 nicked out of somones purse of a football flag. He also said "we are trying to clamp down on property theft at football matches in the capital and with it being so visable have a better chance than usal"

I found a hat in the West stand last season I think it was......nice big furry thing. I handed it in to the SUFC TO the following week or two when I was next in town. I certainly werent gonna drive all the way to Roots Hall to hand in a poxy hat as a special trip. Hopefully I wasnt labelled as thief for thinking that way.

If i am honest mate....so did I, but had to try. So when the guy took it so seriously i was quite taken a back, i kept saying, "it sounds daft me getting so worked up over a flag but it has so much sentimental value to me", but he was adamant that theft is theft and there fore should be treated the same way.

He wanted to know everything, i think they are having a crack down on theft in grounds so good timing i guess.

I can pin point it to with in 3 to 4 mins of when it went mate.....the cords were left there but the flag was taken

In all seriousness though, make sure you left your contact details with CFC, and SUFC, as if it was innocently dropped or whatever, then it might not be handed in for a few days..
