To go a little further if I'm allowed my previous comment on this thread came from one of our players but won't say who. To go that little further Freddy was becoming a little devisive in the dressing room in the few months before we sold him aqnd if you can remember his sulks caused his form to dip towards the end. The player goes onto say with him showing signs of laziness and being a potentially bad apple if things don't go his way then Paul Sturrock won't entertain him although he did express an interest in him in january. If we bring him in again we risk another individual causing strife and divisions in the dressing room all over again which is what we don't need. It'll do more harm than good. Hence why Paul S left alone a couple of months ago. In my view can't see much has changed on this front.

Well thats Bol**cks, because nobody from this squad was here when Freddy was

Then theres a saying - never go back to the same place twice. Doesn't always apply though. But from what I hear from the horses mouths it wouldn't be a wise risk worth taking as I've commented.

Brad these plyers have contacts. Luggy will have contacts. He would have asked questions. He has done. The fact no player here has played with him is irrelevant. You can only bring in players if you've played with them?

Furthermore brad if you received this info from where I got it from you'd be inclined to believe them. Trust me.

Blimey that's knackered me for going home tonight.

Anyone want a lodger?

Apart from the last few months of Freddie's tenure at Southend, where he became a bit lazy, fans have very fond memories of him. If he did return, some 5 or so years on, he wouldn't reproduce the form that he did last time and fans fond memories could become sour.

I say leave be, remember the good times. Onwards and upwards.

Not getting into another rant over this. take it as you will. If you don't disclose info your slagged off if you do ytour slagged off. Remember me getting in first with Tara's resignation? I've said what I said and thats it for this thread. I'm not mentioning names. They'll be no winner amongst me and you over slanging matches.

and of course we can afford to be fussy with who we bring in playing in the classy La League 2 plenty of other strikers with Freddys record in league 2 will be lining up to sign for us.

If we did sign him on loan this week it would add at least 1,000 to Saturdays gate which would enable Ron to finance the deal!

His reported to be on £10,000.00 a week you would need more that a extra 1000 people through the gate to help finance the deal , the only other stumbling block his unfit and i belive his injured so what is the bloody point its not going to happen

Added to which Coventry want him off their books, so I'd say tey wouldn't be up for funding his return to the Essex Riviera.

true coventry want him off there books - but as to them funding his return to the essex riviera cant see that personally as they seem to be have financial troubles of there own at this present time

Not surprised to be honest. Their ground was very empty when we played them in the Championship and they're struggling this year which would suggest the crowd would have dropped even further.

Freddy has made 4 apperances as a sub these season and no goals scored is that seriously worth taking a gamble on for the remainder of our season, personally i think it would be waste of time having freddy back here

Come on folks. The Sturrock can do no right crowd must be rubbing their hands at this one. Best thing about getting Freddy back is that, if we get promoted, our 'realists' can say the manager was just lucky. If we don't get promoted, they can continue to say he hasn't got a clue any more.

When we were doing well this season, our goals were coming from all quarters. Despite the usual hyperbole, while it's hardly good news, Dicko's loss isn't the end of the world scenario some might be claiming it to be.

When a club are trying to offload a player the will often loan him out whilst still paying all or most of his wages, for example MK Dons are only paying £2,000 a week of Alan Smith's £40,000 a week, Newcastle are still paying the rest.

There could be a deal here and with Dicko out for the season I think it is a risk worth taking!
