Kacper Łopata Signs!

think he will add an extra 1000 supporters on the gate, What a reception he will get.

I doubt that very much.

Good player for sure and I'm surprised we signed him. He went back to SUFC to play in the Prem, though he didn't get much game time.

Somebody mentioned on here about a sell on fee SUFC wanted. That wouldn't surprise me, even if we agreed 50%, that's still not bad Business. He's far better than the NL.

So far the boy himself is the only one to thank Ron for bringing him here!

Perhaps Ron found he still had a few readies left in the bottom drawer left over after he nixed the Ricky Holmes deal last season.

Watch him score an own goal and get sent off first game now 😆.

Absolute quality signing and finally getting some depth on the bench.

Kacper Łopata expressed his delight on re-joining Blues after signing a two-year contract on Friday morning, with the option for a third.

He endeared himself to the fans during a superb loan spell midway through the 2021/22 season, and now the 21-year-old returns on a permanent basis.

Łopata said: “I feel fantastic. I loved my time here when I was on loan and I thought this was a great step for me to kickstart my career and start playing football again, and I don’t think there’s a better place for that right now than here.”

After being recalled by Sheffield United in March, Łopata failed to make an appearance for their first team in the time since, and he can’t wait to be back playing senior football.

“When you go back to the U23s and you’re not getting a sniff of first-team football, it’s hard. First-team football suits me because you’re playing for points and there’s a lot of passion involved. That’s why I’ve come back.

“It’s never straight-forward, but I think playing football somewhere you enjoy it, the fans love you and the gaffer believes in you made my decision for me. I want to thank the chairman because he went above and beyond to get this deal done.”

He also spoke about how much adoration the fans have for him, and how excited he is to rekindle that relationship. “I try not to get too carried away, but the fans are a massive part of it. Getting all the support means so much to me and my family, they love reading all of it.”

Łopata has high hopes for the season and believes the squad are capable of a return to the EFL.

“My personal aspiration is to get promoted. I don’t want to shy away from it – we’ve got a great team and I think there’s definitely something there. As soon as you get a little run going, things become possible very quickly.”

He is in contention to play in tomorrow’s game at home to Torquay United, and said it will be a moment to remember when he does make an appearance in a Blues shirt again.

“I’ve been speaking to my family about making my second debut. I don’t know whether I’ll start tomorrow or not, but it’ll be a special moment and I’m sure the fans will be great like they always are. It’s moments like that that I think I’ll cherish forever.”

Its great to have him back .And matbe for once our much belegard chairman should get some of the credit .He has put the money up to get this signing over the line .He has kept very quite but has backed kevin to get some quality players in to the club ..And now he is getting the new stasium off the ground .Maybe this is the turning point the fans have been waiting for after many years in the dulldrums .

Agreed, as much as Ron has had his downs over the years I think he has backed Maher well this window and we have bought some good players In and sounds like he had a hand in lopata coming back, it's also nice to not have any toxicity around the club, I'm not saying we should now be singing his name from the stands by any means but fair play.

Part of the problem is not Ron supporting management teams (as best he can), but Ron's very poor recruitment of said management teams plus no CEO a lack of structure (saving pennies to cost pounds..).

Post Stan & Tom we know have a great management team and a proper football structure being development starting with recruitment with JS. Surprise surprise now that £ budget is going a lot further, is better invested, with better potential returns whether on the pitch or in future transfer earnings. But it all started with Stan & Tom.

Over the last couple of years, Shrimper fans have been shaking our heads, saying on several occasions, "Things can't get any worse" only for them, to continue to get worse. When will we reach the bottom? You know when you've reached the bottom when you bounce and start moving back up. If ever there was a catalyst moment to define the build back of our team, this signing is it.

Tapping this out on the beach at Presque Isle in Erie PA. Can't wait to get back over again in November to watch Kacper play again in a Blue's shirt.

True but it is Rons money that has backed these signings Im not saying he is a great chairman but maybe with help he has started to learn at long last .

Kev Maher be like UFC fighter Leon Edwards.... "you all said i couldn't do it, well look at me now !"

I stand by my original prediction, we'll win the league. Lots more to come yet, that is a good squad. Wouldn't suprise me if a league striker turned up on loan on Monday now the windows shut.
Welcome home Lopata thats a hell of a signing. There will be no more conceding two goals to the likes of Eastleigh, because thats a massive boost to the squad and will lift them, even if he starts on the bench to begin with. Up the Blues.
