He got Tom Lawrence in, a dedicated, hard working, genuine, talented CEO.

He persisted with stubborn Ron and got him to listen and drop his pride to allow things to be run differently. Not easy!!

He engaged with the fans again when it could not be more separate from the hierarchy.

He influenced bringing in key people like John Still who has transformed the squad.

He brought passion that has transformed the stands and changing room again.

He sold a strategy to the board that transformed the club, redirected the media team and attracted many investors.

He did all this against doubters who said he was full of s##t, only here for himself and money.

How wrong were they!!

Do not underestimate what this great man has done for this clubs dramatic fast turnaround.

Yes we forget what Stan did, getting the zoom meetings going and bringing in the right people.

Credit where it's due to Martin. Whilst he grips onto the club for dear life for (hopefully) just a short while longer, this is what I'd like to see him doing. Stay in the background and only get involved in things when we really need him to. Tom passed this one onto him and he delivered. Probably needed to after he'd scuppered the Omar Mussa move.

Credit to Kacper's agent too for finally relenting and facing the fact that his client only had eyes for Southend. I understand he was being a pain earlier in the summer, trying to convince Kacper to go elsewhere and offering him to all and sundry. To a certain extent I guess he wouldn't be doing his job properly if he didn't, but was frustrating to hear how at one point he wasn't really trying to help sort the move.

Dear oh dear. The best news we've had for ages. A real coup. Lot's saying it can't and won't happen. Look on the bright side. He might (he will in my eyes) help us have a very successful season. Attendances and sales of everything will go up, so everyone gets paid, even the tax man.
