Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

They certainly don't, why spook the public for no good reason. I surprised that those that you know, who's clearance was above the normal basic levels, were allowed to discuss what they knew with you, unless you were cleared to the same level. The whole idea of layered security clearance is to be careful with what you know.

No I was not. They told me what I needed to know as a Firefighter. I was never told about the planned attacks with small arms etc.

I Have taken part in large scale exorcises/training so we do have to exchange information and ideas to try and come up with some sort of plan in the event of an attack. Most of the initial plans were drawn up by people in offices on how they thought we could best set up and use the equipment. Mine and the other firefighters job was to point out the areas where the grand plan would not work and we could adjust accordingly. Which often upsets the high flyer who wrote the original guide lines.

Lots of people complained that the LFB were slow to get to the casualties on 7/7. We had been continually told to expect a secondary device or in fact a 'dirty' bomb. Which means we would have to be in full gas tight suits otherwise any one committed to the incident would just become another casualty.

Before I retired from the London Fire Brigade I was at a station that specialised in Mass Decontamination. That's means people by the way not accidental chemical spills.

We had 3 large lorries that could be deployed to any terrorist incident in not just London but the whole of Britain. I would have been in charge of setting up potable showers to decontaminate hundreds of people. We even have large portable boilers so the water can be heated, portable traffic lights to control the flow of casualties not traffic and hundreds of packs of spare clothing.

The firefighters will of course all be in gas tight suits. I've even been on courses on how to clean bodies correctly so they can be handed to the police for identification.

Obviously I know people who have very high security clearance ( higher than certain MP's) Its clear the powers that be, do not want the public to have any clue about what could happen and what has nearly happened. Would be very bad for business old boy. Some of the left wing people on the zone would be truly shocked if they new about plans to control the masses in the event of a 'spectacular'.

MK can mock but don't say you were never warned.
It's lucky this confidential information is in safe hands and will never be leaked onto a public forum......

I don't doubt there's scum out there who want to kill me & mine with their twisted ideology, however I still believe they are a tiny, tiny minority of the Muslim population of this country.

I've never said any different. If we fail to stop the scum then we fail the Muslim community as much as our as our own.

Politicians have protected and armed, chauffer driven cars, I have family and friends using the tube every day. They take a risk. That risk is increased every time people stick their head in the sand.

And it was undoubtedly a very worthwhile and valuable job that you used to do. My concern was that people with security clearance about the basic counter-terrorist and Security checks were being fast and loose with their knowledge.

That's a very pessimistic outlook and is the kind of outlook that the 15,000 people that have joined the Labour Party membership in the last 24 hours are rejecting. Who was genuinely enthusiastic about the last election? SNP voters and not a lot of other people. Something has to change. Don't be down on it before it's been tied.

Er, does that mean I shouldn't be down on UKIP or BNP?

I think a lot of his economic ideas have been tried and have failed. It's not as if a nationalised British Rail was any good yet Corbynites hark back to it as a golden age which will fix all problems.

I hope he can make changes to the way British politics operates: I'd like it to be less centrally driven but also more informed and less emotional. However I think he'll be such a failure that Labour will react against him and decide that the reason they failed was because he didn't have enough of a grip over the party machinery and because he was too left wing.

NEW Labour, who were simply Tories in red ties. Zero hour contracts should be made illegal despite your flowery words - they penalise the poor.

We've been through this before. By making zero hour contracts illegal you are penalising students or single parents with childcare needs or people who currently have too few hours but will have no hours when faced with the alternative.

This is typical ham-fisted socialism trying to provide their command economy one size fits all solutions that end up hurting more people than it actually ends up helping.

Yes. And I do. Why do you ask?

How does that work in terms of what constituency you get a vote in?

Nonsense. Flexible working is available. Every employer, where possible, should offer it.

It would seem that Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell are bucking that particular trend for the moment. Corbyn on his bike and McDonnell heading off to catch his bus when TV tried to interview him.

Oh dear again,

Jezza never received the table banging welcoming a new leader,he also suffered hostile questioning.

Hilary Benn said "he does not agree with Trident being scrapped" oh dear oh dear, what will Jezza say.

Very honest man. I have met him at some rally's. He has always been a friend to the Fire service and has defended us against cuts. At least he will stand by his principles and beliefs. Unlike Jim Fitzpatrick, the former London firefighter now MP for Poplar. Used his colleagues and Union to get into parliament and then turned his back on us for his own political career.

I was hoping for a cabinet role for Dan Jarvis. Never mind.

There is a school of thought that says Jarvis is the messiah in waiting, post Corbyn. The Tories were reportedly most wary of him running for leader as they thought him a real threat. I don't know enough about the guy, but it seems to me he needs experience on the opposition front bench to prove himself.

He is really really popular up here, and it is unusual for a Nottingham guy to be popular in South Yorkshire.

I know he has a young family who are his priorty at the moment. It'd be interesting to see how he develops in the next few years. Maybe keeping him out of the cabinet right now is seen as a way of protecting him for a little bit. He's young and this is clearly a major transitional phase.

It was the left wing who argued against any action or indeed military spending in the 1930's. Hitler and his Nazis turned out to be a bit more than the odd radical German.

That's a wildy inaccurate,mis-interpretation of history.

Shame on you.

It's well-known that the editors of the Daily Mail/Express were pro-Nazi (as were many members of the establishment and Royal Family.I'm sure you'll recall those recent pictures of the young-future- Queen Elizabeth doing a Nazi salute).
