Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

I agree. I never understood the betrayal thing. It was an open contest and Ed won. I do find it ironic though that Ed Miliband doesn't believe in competition in the economy but he does for leader of the Labour party.

Unlike you (and his brother) Ed has maintained a diplomatic silence on the Labour leadership contest.

The idea that EM doesn't believe in "Competition in the economy" is, of course, complete nonsense.

Book a room at the Fat Chance Hotel...it's over...JC will walk it...

I have a feeling that Burnham will win. I have absolutely no evidence for this at all but I might put £10 on it on the basis the same pollsters got the General Election result so wrong and this election is much more complex with alternative voting and an unknown electorate.

Are you saying I shouldn't be allowed to express an opinion on the subject?

Not at all.I'm just pointing out that unlike his brother (and the three living ex-Labour leaders) EM has acted with admirable restraint in not commenting on this election, while it is ongoing.

You are of course fully entitled to your opinion, though as a right-winger,frankly I've no idea why you should want to comment on a Labour leadership election process. As I've already said, I made no comment whatsoever on the Cameron/Davis debates .

No kidding...

That's right.Btw,is this what passes for an argument in right-wing circles these days?

Alternative voting will only kick in if the leading candidate doen't achieve 50% of the vote in the first ballot.

The last opinion poll I saw gave JC 56%.

The "unknown electorate" you speak of must logically be JC supporters in the main, which in a OMOV system must give him a huge advantage, in the most democratic election ever taken by the Labour party.

Because I am interested in politics and all in favour of open debate. I believe people should be able to express their opinion on any subject they see fit, which is not a belief universally held by the Corbyn brigade.

Corbyn is also my constituency MP so I am one of the few people here who will be directly impacted by the outcome of this election.

I presume by "right wing" you mean anyone who thinks printing billions of pounds and handing it out isn't such a great idea? What typically passes for argument is a free and open exchange of ideas, not screaming "Tory scum" or "fascist" at someone because they might happen to have a contradictory view. Something else that doesn't pass for argument is slagging off the electorate when they don't happen to share the socialist utopian vision and the generally pompous air of smug superiority that tends to come with the "activist left."

Like you, one of my brothers also lives in Islington, (not RobNoxious) the other one.Unlike you,he's a bit more likely to be "impacted by this election",since he actually votes Labour,on occasion.

As I'm sure you're aware, the present government is still going in for Q/E.JC would actually invest this money in infrastructure projects rather than just handing it over to the banks, as the Tories do.

They handed it out to the banks , who used it to balance their sheets...sod all really went to the people of the country...I really get tired about this old rhetoric of how Labour sunk the country and how the Tories are saving us from some mire of hell...
It is about time somebody from a party stood up for the normal people in this country and not those that hanker on about how well we are doing these days when the actual truth is those that are rich are getting richer and those that are poor are unwanted cretins who should rise up to be some leaders and mind bending entrepreneurs of the new world...absolute bollocks as all Tories know.

I doubt I should mention the billions that cost.

Ironic but not surprising. These lefties all have standards which are ignored when it suits them.
I see Russell Brand has thrown his lightweight behind Corbyn. This is the bloke who detests big corporations but sells his books through Amazon.

That's Corbyn doomed then. Brand is the kiss of death the second he throws his support anyone's way. Hope he never decides to start supporting Southend.

Never a truer word spoken. Having just leapt across from ChitChat, we already have our own kiss of death merchants beavering away.

So has Murdoch.:stunned: (Known to like a winner).

Jezza denies ever meeting a certain bloke yet an old photo proving he did meet appeared.

Jezza has some strange ideas I do believe.

Jesus H, Stevo - even lefties have to make a living >http://www.amazon.co.uk/FM247-Radio...&sr=8-1&keywords=fm247+this+is+radio+binfield < but luckily I don't have to rely on the greatest undiscovered pop novel in the whole wide world.
