Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

Indeed - can't really mount a leadership challenge while being on the end of a vote of no confidence from her own constituents, can she?
I've been contacting those involved to say that negotiation is the way rather than a coup. Will just be burried under a million other messages but it's pretty clear that if the membership want him to stay then the PLP need to be a lot calmer and clever than they have been

Blimey.

Jewish MP Ruth Smeeth hounded from the launch of Labour's antisemitism inquiry in tears by Corbyn supporter. This is all getting worse.

I wouldn't mind seeing a coup from a strong candidate, but Eagle - really? Would love to see more Corbyn supporters in Labour constituencies urging their MPs to support him.

The antics surrounding Ruth Smeeth at the anti-semitism report launch this afternoon couldn't be part of a conspiracy against Corbyn, could it? Some people now saying it's 'the final straw' for JC- all seems rather convenient...

His sense of entitlement appals me.

Regarding the Ruth Smeeth catastrophe for the LP. What's worse and certainly the death nell of JC as a credible leader is that he just stood there, carried on, did nothing and by doing so all but condoned it by keeping his mouth shut and not stopping it as soon as it started.

Had a chat with my eldest niece recently who is not only staunchly Labour, but also entirely pro-Corbyn. I do think Labour MPs have vastly under-estimated the swell of grass roots support there is for their party leader, and it really could come back and totally bite them on the bum!

I don't really want to upset any diehard Labour supporters but give this some thought.

Michael Foot was told by his agent that he was the most unpopular Labour leader in history. 'I don't believe it, I just spoke to 1000 people and they loved me' exclaimed Foot.

'Yas replied the agent, but the rest of the country don't'

Perhaps Corbyn should think on about that. The tories are up in the air with a party leader election, the perfect oppotunity to strike while the irons hot except he hasn't even put it in the fire.

I think you'll find its mainly Tory MP's that like that sort of thing. Willing to pay good money for it as well....So I'm told

Probably because he's too busy trying to remove the multitude of Blairite/media knives from his back. The timing of this assault is as unconscionable as it is unsurprising. Corbyn lacks political killer instinct at the best of times, but he has a massive open goal to aim at and the right wing of the party are desperately trying to stop him scoring before the Chilcott enquiry is released and buries every last one of the warmongering *******.

Angela Eagle (or is it Eddie Izzard?) is desperately trying to get some attention. She's probably not picked a great day for it in fairness.

Corbyn for me..... Socialist.
He will win by a bigger majority this time im sure of it.

It seems that the Unions aren't representing their members particularly well. They want Corduroy to stay, but according to the BBC:

...a YouGov poll for the Election Data website suggested that of 1,221 trade union members surveyed, 63% thought Mr Corbyn was doing badly as leader, compared with 33% who thought he was doing well.

Also, 76% said it was unlikely that Mr Corbyn would ever become prime minister, while 69% said it was unlikely Labour would win the next election while he was leader.

OK, we know polls have proven to be inaccurate of late, but even if they are +/-5 percentage points out, that still makes grim reading, and seems to show the Unions aren't doing what they're supposed to do, and represent their members.

I resigned from Unison because of their support for Corbyn. I'm not sure how many people want a return to Militant (Momentum) and an unelectable Labour party. Labour "activists" have never understood that the majority of voters do not want a hard left Labour party and won't vote for one.
