Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

I resigned from Unison because of their support for Corbyn. I'm not sure how many people want a return to Militant (Momentum) and an unelectable Labour party. Labour "activists" have never understood that the majority of voters do not want a hard left Labour party and won't vote for one.

Indeed. I would rather a centre left Labour party that has a chance of winning than a hard left Labour party with no chance.

If the Blairites dump JC for Eagle or any other clone of the ilk that brought us illegal wars and student fees, then I will quit the party and never vote for them again. I'd imagine the 100,000s of people that have joined the Labour party since JC's election will feel the same way.

A Labour Party at any price? No thanks.

See, I don't understand this stance at all. Surely you must concede that your views are incompatible with most in the UK. Yes, far left Labour has brought hundreds of thousands (?) more members , but you surely acknowledge that pitted against the Tories in a General Election, a party with such policies cannot win. The party has no more than a "cult following" really.

Surely you would want something more central who offer a hybrid set of policies who might win an election, come to power and then deliver on some of your ideology but who would not be able to deliver on certain policies further left than a certain point.

You realize that this is how Labour came to power in the 90s?

But you freely admit you don't usually vote, so I don't see that as a big deal.

To me it's not at any price. I would rather a left party that does something for people on low or even no income than one a party that promises the world but doesn't deliver because it isn't in power, and allows the tories free reign to completely ignore such people.

But don't you see how he is killing the party? He is acting like a activist not the leader of the opposition. We got a new Prime Minister yesterday, where was Corbyn to make comment? At a Soladarity with Cuba meeting. It's utter madness.

Do we need solidarity with Cuba anymore?

Totally agree MK, been a paid up member for years and for the first time in ages we have a leader that defines Labour principles and its roots

To many Asses and wannabes run nowadays, but JC is a decent man and stands for what he believes, take away the hype media who will one day have him as a saviour and the next day as the devil, listen to him rather than read the papers and maybe some of his thoughts and principles make sense

Problem is we live in a society of people who only care about them selves and blame others for their inadequacies when times get rough

Then why have parties at all, get rid of UKIP, Greens, Liberals, Independants. they will never get into power

Its about freedom of choice and just because he was elected by a large majority to lead labour, doesnot mean he has to stand down because of the constant witch hunt from those who (a) Didn't or have never voted labour (b) Old MPS who supped with the devil and are now paying the price

Let the likes of Burnham, Eagle, Chuka etc form a new party and see how they get on with winning votes

Not sure where you got the from. I voted in every GE (and others) since I was allowed at 18.

What do you want him to say? "Well done Theresa on becomming PM, without anyone voting for you as well!"

100,000+ new members is killing it, is it?

Speaking to several Labour voters (not members) they seem to take issue with his complete lack of activity since taking over.
Having an increased membership, may not necessarily be enough to persuade rank and file voters especially when the MP's THEY elected are deserting him like rats from a sinking ship.

Perhaps the MP's you refer to should go ahead and form their own political party?

They don't seem very happy to serve in the PLP under the leadership of JC, who was elected with the biggest mandate ever by ordinary members and the unions just 9 months ago.

I think the part I highlighted from your post about sums it up!:Worthy:

Think you'll find that was corrected before you pointed it out.

Pity you don't have any other argument to put forward though.

Who knows, perhaps the Tory party membership will rise up in mass revolt after not being able to play a part in their own party's leadership election?

PS Who do you think will win UKIP's leadership election now they've introduced a 5 year membership rule for candidates?

No they will just move across to UKIP, alongside those disaffected Labour voters you and AAS claimed didn't exist!
