We are on the edge of the play off, Smith would be fantastic with either Cox or Fortune. It's a realistic target, plus he don't have to live in a digs somewhere further away from London area & he can have a short travel around M25 & A13 to reach Southend & back home, no problem.

Anyone who describes the commute from London to Southend as a short travel has clearly never driven it during rush hour!

Depends where he is based off course but I think a few of our boys are based in the capital.

Kind of repeating myself but i'd be interesting to see whether PB may will be in contact with his old pal Big Sam to see what else Palace can lend us on the forward front, neither of these two seem to get a look in at 1st team level at Palace>

Kwesi Appiah (Should score goals at Lge 1 level, as has done in previous loan moves)
Jonathan Benteke (brother of Christian, bit of an unknown quantity?)

The 3 strikers are.........Frank Nouble now on trial, released by Gillingham(Doesn't sound good). Matt Smith(Excellent) and Cauley Woodrow(Oh dear).
Apart from Matt Smith, it's very disappointing with all those very good strikers out there with great goals per games, even if it means going a League or 2 lower.

Well done North Bank , finger on the pulse as always .

Blimey, Nouble's been about!

None of these are particularly prolific, Nouble and Woodrow were destined for the top, but clearly not reached their potential. Smith would be an interesting proposal. I reckon we will end up with Nouble, already training, wont cost anything and mates with Hines (and Ranger I am told)

Frank Nouble likes a move, 25 in 6 years, should have gained significant experience? Did well in his first spell at Gillingham , not so happy under brief recent spell with Edinburgh. I think he could be quite useful and suggested we picked him up earlier in the season when he was a free agent and we were looking for someone outside the transfer window, so disappointed when Gillingham picked him up. Worth a punt for my money

I'd rather Frank Butcher up top than Nouble to be honest.

Smith would be a seriously impressive signing and would fit in perfectly.

Woodrow can also stay away, wasn't impressed.

Woodrow was one of those that never looked like scoring for us. He didn't have the pace to go past defenders, and the ball didn't stick. So I don't see what he can bring to the team.

He was 18 when he came here first time now he's 22 and with quite a few Championship games under his belt, no doubt there should be some improvement from since he was here then.

Woodrow noooooooooooooooooooooo !,oh dear god please no.....one of his final games for Fulham he should have scored 6 according to the reporter...he scored zero....since he left us I think he has scored around 10....no ta.

Nouble has been round the block again and again....no ta.

Smith would be IMO an outstanding signing.....him and Cox would be a right handful...yes please.

Fair comment. I hope so.
It was clear to see last time with us that the kid had something special about him, i think that's backed up by his England call ups since then. The transition to 1st team football can take time but for me i could see he was quality, he just needs to be playing week in week out to kick on... if he is given that opportunity (especially in this Southend side) i think he could be a real asset!

Fair enough. I just didn't get it last time. He was a luxury player that did the odd nice flick, and that was it. I don't mind a striker not scoring many if he gives something else to the team and works his nuts off, like Fortune, but Woodrow was very lazy. Like I said, the ball never stuck. One of those strikers that wants chances on a plate, rather than doing something himself.
