I really hope we spend money on a signing! Matt Smith, with 6 months left on his contract, could we potentially nab for £100k or less? Omar Bogle of Grimsby could be worth a look, 18 goals this season and only 24...

No chance Rotherham had an £850k bid rejected.

that was over 3 year's ago, since then Cauley Woodrow has been capped 6 times by England U21 (in 2015) - so he has clearly improved and still only 22.

In those 3 year's he has scored 7 league goals !

We are getting to the business end of the season...history strongly suggests Woodrow might score a couple but add nothing up top.

Smith adds far more...he could easily bag 7-10 plus set up knockdowns and defend set plays.

Sadly my money is on the return of Woodrow,I hope I'm wrong.

or 4 goals from 14 starts in the Championship (season 2015/16), you can use the stats in any way you like but football isn't played on paper. If you're purely going by the stats then people like Stan Collymore, Barry Corr, Britt Assombalonga wouldn't have got a chance.

If we go for Smith I'm sure it will be a loan deal and then Fulham will use the extension clause they have in his contract to leverage some cash out of us in the summer if he does well.

Lets all hope and pray it is not Nouble, would be incredibly underwhelming given the money we just received...

Thing is though that money is going to be used to help the running of the club. In fact, it's probably already been spent.

I agree I would be underwhelmed with Nouble too especially considering Gillingham didn't want him but I wasn't too keen on the signing of MAF before it happened and he's turned out to be a very good acquisition.

Wallace,

"Frank Nouble, according to wiki and my mental maths skills, has:

  • Played 177 games
  • Scored 22 goals

A calculator tells me that this is:

  • 1 goal every 8.045 games
  • 1.467 average goals per club he has played for.. as a striker...
  • 40% of clubs he has played for he has scored 0 times."

MAF Pre SUFC

  • Games 482
  • Goals 95
  • G2G Ratio = 1 in 5 games

That is the kind of record I would accept for a striker who is older, experienced and more of a support striker. He has experience where as Nouble has experienced nothing but disappointment. I would honestly rather we promoted Norman Wabo from the youth

Quiet day in the office today is it? :hilarious:

We are after 4 players apparently and one of them has all ready signed.

What sort of a post is that?

How do you know we (S.U.F.C.) are after 4 players (I thought Browny was after signing 2).
What is your sauce?
Who has already signed?
Why has this not been made public (I am guessing that a signing will strengthen the squad and is therefore a good thing) and celebrated?

Some people are just so rude. That's it I'm going to sulk now and not tell you about the others.

Assuming Nouble does sign I suppose it's possible that we won't see any other newbies pending Nile's outcome. Seems to me that the club is bending over backwards not to lose Nile and if he comes through his problems still a Blue player then we probably wouldn't want anyone else anyway. If any more of the four Rigsby won't tell us about are still looking likely, then are we entitled to take that as a sign that Nile is history?

Looks like the Bees can cough up quickly as the Hogan deal with spammers is going through for a mere £13.5 million Can we have it all in the new extra secure , 6 sided one pound coins, so it doesn't disappear all to quickly?
