[insert inevitable gag about him being a perfect match for us in that case here]
Anthony grant just signed a permanent deal at Swindon today, well done to him, think his better than league two tho:Thumbs up:

He certainly used to be.Not so sure about now though.
Ran the game for Swindon at the Os after coming on as sub.

Just seen that Peterborough have signed Jack Taylor, who’s only 21 from Barnet. They’ve paid £500k (rising to £1m)

This is unbelievable, and shows what a mess our club is by comparison, we are living off scraps and teams in the same division are spending money we can only dream of.

are peterboro taking a punt and then may have some FFP issues down the line, or are they going to sell someone to balance the books. They have a history of the latter i believe.

Maybe they are selling Toney

Their business model seems to work fairly well. At least they have a strategy they stick to! Not to mention have managed to improve much of their stadium along the way.

Agree Westy, they buy for decent money and sell at a profit which allows them to do what they do. I was just hilighting that if the sell Toney then they can afford the fee to Barnet without restricting them on FFP. Probably did it badly though.

Let's face it ,with non payment of players who the hell is going to come near us.Also begs the question what will Sols reaction be if he can't sign anyone he wants and the promises made to him .Not sure we have the right man in the current meltdown , he and his and backroom team cant be cheap at a time when the pot is empty.Really shows what a miracle worker Sturrock was, but to be in a similar situation again years later is unbelievable.

Yea I've thought this about Sol. Must feel like walking - BUT, that will be 2 clubs he's effectively walked out on due to finances, which (unfortunately, not his fault), won't look good on his CV - so I guess he's a bit stuck for now.

Peterborough are properly run. Darren Mcantoney plays by the rules. He mentioned on twitter the other day that they had to loan out Woodyard to Tranmere to meet FFP rules as they had bought another midfielder in on loan.

Darragh MacAnthony, the Posh owner, has allowed Darren Ferguson to put together a very strong squad at considerable expense. They ought to be top of the table but a series of thrashings over Christmas and New Year means they're only just in a play-off place. If they sell either Maddison or Toney this month they'll probably fail to be promoted. If I were in Mr McAnthony's shoes I'd sack Sir Alex's son and approach Ron Martin regarding Sol Campbell.
Ron Martin has just been on the radio reiterating that it was just an administrative blip causing some to be paid late. The question was asked why it had got into the public domain; was it someone with an axe to grind?

agree they are, the spend money when they have it and if they want to cash in on someone they then spend wisely.

Sadly we dont have a player worth too much money

We sold Dru in August. Perhaps the money went to fund the academy for the season....Likewise when Elvis and Kelman move on.

You seem to be a huge fan of Mr.Campbell .. if I was Darragh I'd keep the manager he already has, he doesn't have a bad track record. I'd wager on them staying there or thereabouts and doing some clever business this month.

Thats true and I forgot about Dru. How much did we get? I heard around 500k but some was on clauses etc. Not sure how he is doing there.

Toney for instance I hear Posh want 10 million or more for him (not sure they will get that but each to their own). Elvis and Charlie if they went what do you think they would fetch?

Not being argumentative its a genuine question, same for HUmps and Hopper I guess (cant see them wanting to play in league 2)

All this talk about strikers , its not strikers we need we got plenty of them its decent centre backs and midfielders, a left back and if possible wingers

And a goalkeeper.

So pretty much everything, except strikers.

This season’s a write off, save the money and sell anyone while we can, if we’re going to be the worst team in the history of the league, we might as well cut the wage bill to one we can afford and be the worst team in the history of the league.

Can we please not mention Peterboroughs highly successful business model Im a bit sick of hearing about it to be honest :Winking:,
