Exactly this

If Ron has secured the loan, there is only 8 days left in the month, so is it going to turn up suddenly on the 28th?

Whilst I get making a significant saving on the repayment by delay, surely it would be a rare chance to do the decent thing and let us know the score sooner than on the day

Quite a few have hinted the deal is done, The White knight scenario will do Ron even further harm this time in the eyes of supporters, It would undoubtedly affirm his preparedness to let us all really suffer, Time to be charitable and update now or by Friday?
Agree it a done deal. But yes once again everybody bends the knee to the owner

If SUFC are nothing to do with the property developments then how does the £5M bridging loan end up paying SUFC debt to HMRC?. Is the bridging loan to the club or one of the property companies?. And how does the money get from the property companies to SUFC?. It's all very confusing.
Now that’s a good question

How do we know it’s a done deal?
There’s enough smoke on here and social media to suggest that a loan of x amount is all agreed and interest is being saved by not drawing down until perhaps later this week or early next.

But we just won’t know until the club either make a statement that’s it’s sorted/not sorted or the judge does…

The lack of info is shocking.

It’s been suggested by more than one person and is the most likely scenario given past behaviour
Rm would have found an investor by now. He wouldn’t chuck away his dream of his family owning a chunk of Southend. (The flats). It’s been a twenty year obsession

The big question is who will live in them... who’s eyeing them up. Will locals get a look in or maybe they want some for refugees. Time will tell
Maybe fans should get a cut price since it’s not all about the property side

I believe group development companies are obtaining the "Bringing Loan" of approx £5million, group development companies will then loan some to Southend United Football Club Ltd enough to pay off HMRC and some of the other club debits.
Cheers. Here’s hoping wages will be promptly paid

Has this been mentioned yet?

It's good.

Yes it has but does not hurt to see it again, and you are right it is good

Totally agree

What does it take for someone to just raise themselves enough as a human being to offer a bit more reassurance or update

Absolute disgrace of a way to treat supporters worse than ever, , but classic to our experience to date

Stan must be pulling his hair out given all the stuff about better communiucation etc

Only 2 things I can think of:

- it’s not a done deal / there is risk still involved
- if it’s to save a few quid, not great news for the staff who are probably paying that in interest in their overdrafts

You could add a third.
Maybe the money is agreed but they are exploring another option too before drawing down.

Yeah it would be nice if money is secured they could be paid now

Ron Martin cares for no one but himself.

If he truly “Loves the ****ing club” like he said he does, then he would have sold the club by now or asked for outside help.

But no, he would rather see good people go unpaid and risk them losing their homes, just so he can achieve his end goal that will make him very rich.

He doesn’t care that he’s destroyed a club that thousands of people love and it’s been their passion for years. He doesn’t care that’s he’s destroyed peoples lives, so long as he’s ok…..the man is pure scum and will never be welcome back at Roots Hall again!!

How do you know he hasn’t asked for outside help? From the rumours and Connor’s call etc it appears that he has been looking for this but is simply pricing people out of it currently. This again is just an opinion of yours and not factually true.

Also as much as we all hate Ron for numerous reasons I highly doubt that he doesn’t care as if he didn’t care I doubt he would have taken himself to the edge of bankruptcy to get his dream. If he has used as much of his own money as he says he has then he would have been better off getting rid of the club years ago. I also think that he will actually be deeply embarrassed that he hasn’t been able to pay people and from what I understand this isn’t actually his choice but something HMRC have stopped him doing.

I am not backing him at all and I think he desperately needs to move on but your post is potentially very wide of the mark.

The club need to release a statement confirming what progress has been made and rest peoples minds assured as much as they can. From my understanding there is confidence within the club that this will be sorted very soon and from the way the staff and players are sticking together you have to believe that they know a lot more than we do and that is why they are not downing tools.

Do you still leave milk and cookies out for Santa on Xmas Eve?.

He didn’t come across as deeply embarrassed during his talk with the players.

He might be, somewhere deep down, but he’s never shown an ounce of genuine contrition for anything he’s ever done to this football club. At least not publicly.
