being Tory is a choice, colour of your skin isn't.This sort of post shows exactly what you really stand for.
Would you say the same thing about black people or muslims. Remember your 'horseshoe' effect.

I'm quite happy to go to my grave as a socialist.
I'd prefer to go to my grave as an copse.

And Hatred is also a choice.
So whilst our old mucker Barna may go to his grave a socialist (in his mind at any rate)...isn't it sad that his contempt for others will be buried alongside him.

He posted a quote from someone else, and that quote was expressing a hatred of people who were full of hatred (in the person quoted's opinion).Perhaps they should bury you with full honours in the SS grave yard. I mean they thought the Jews were lower than vermin.
Same hatred, just a different group of people.
It looks like the Lords are putting together proposals mixed with a reality check, while the government run around like headless chickens.Time for May to 'man-up' and decide on which side of the Cabinet wall she is.

May needs to take control - with the court cases and Labour's parliament win to get her to reveal the 'plan' it seems non government forces are dictating how this is unravelling at the moment. All we are getting from the government is mixed messages.
I fear they have taken on a task much bigger than their capabilities can manage.
My guess,FWIW,is that although May herself probably favours a soft Brexit, she'll be bounced into a hard one by the uncompromising line of the EU's negotiators, after next March.
I certainly agree with your last point.

I think she prefers the one which will do her and the Tory party (forget the country) less damage.......problem for her is, that she hasn't yet decided which one it is. Hard Brexit will see probably the majority of parliament on her back, with more seats like Richmond Park under risk. Soft Brexit and she'll have her party hardliners and right-wing press on her back plus the risk of a resurgent UKIP. Honestly, if it's a soft Brexit, is there any point? with the UK still tied to Europe but with certainly a deal that is less good than the one we have at present. Will the the small gains made, be worth all the money effort and pain that is going to be expended over the coming years???
In my ageing years, pleasures become increasingly difficult to find however, one that never fails to provide me with a unique pleasure and satisfaction, is watching the Tory Party struggle and squirm over Europe.
This is where the vote was lost AND where any hypothetical future vote will also be lost.
If the EU had a modicum of humility and moderation to the UK's position on border control and "home rule" then who can say what the result would have been.
The threats and retribution snippets from EU "diplomats" have just hardened the Leavers further AND pushed uncertain persons further away from the European Federation of Franco/Germanic Collusion.

The point is surely that 48% of the population voted to remain.Add those "leave" voters who would prefer a soft Brexit and you have a probable majority for the soft Brexit option, which I don't think will be possible.
desperate stuff to blame Labour for what the government are doing on Brexit - that is the ultimate in head in the sandYes, that's the latest bit of remoan propaganda doing the rounds. They seem to have forgotten about all those who voted remain but want much tighter restrictions on immigration.
Last week on question time Labour had yet another instantly forgettable waste of space on the panel. He followed the party line which is of course ignore the question and slag off the Tories. Shame Labour can't come up with a single thing to give people an alternative option.
The only thing I have heard from JC is he thinks we should have more immigration, other than that what does he stand for?
That's why we voted Brexit in the first place. That's why we didn't trust them to stay in a 'reformed Europe'. That's why No matter what the Tories do with the Brexit negotiations, Labour is staring down the barrel of its biggest ever defeat in the next election.
Rigsby, you obviously haven't seen this article.........
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/dec/11/labour-can-close-gap-in-polls-says-diane-abbott
I notice she doesn't say by how much Labour will close the gap............isn't that a safe assumption because surely it can't get worse than it is at the moment???
I remain as strongly remain as I've always been, yet as I've mentioned above, IF there is Brexit, it's hardly any point doing a soft one, where the UK is likely to end up with the worst of both worlds. The EU, in face of Brexit, want the deal done...................and as quickly as possible.
