Just by chance I was checking King Crimson on the internet and saw they were doing two shows in Aylesbury in September. Only restricted views were available on Sunday, but there was just one ticket was unsold on Monday 5 September. Not anymore.

I saw them last year at the Lowry, a fantastic show.

Cat's foot, iron claw · maninasuitcase scream for more....................I can see it now!

Shellac at Koko last night - totally amazing, incredible musicians, nice guys, perfect band, great night.

Radiohead were good at The Roundhouse the other night. Sacrilegious to admit I know, but I'm not a massive fan. Went with a mate who is though and he was in bits.

Next stop Wembley on Sunday to see The Boss.

See you got a ticket in the end.His shows in the UK will be well worth attending if his recent performance at Camp Nou is anything to go by.

Lucky chap, on both scores.

Lucky boy indeed. Never seen Radiohead and was glad to have ticked them off. The Boss on the other hand, I have really wanted to see for years now, even if I will be a pitch length away from him...

Few thoughts on Bruce Springsteen at Wembley Stadium last night

  • Phenomenal. Straight in to my all time top five gigs.

  • Over three and a half hours! Talk about getting bang for your buck.
  • At one point, he did 'Jungleland', 'Born To Run' and 'Dancing In The Dark', barely pausing for breath in between songs. What a 1-2-3 punch.

  • People are odd. About 30 seconds in to 'Because The Night' - when it was already clear that this was going to be unmissable - a couple near me got up out of their seats. I thought at the time that I couldn't conceive of how badly I'd need the toilet in order to leave my seat at that point. They returned a few minutes later, having missed an epic version of an epic song, but with two Wembley hot dogs. Why? Why?

  • Similarly, another couple left during the last minute of 'Born To Run'. They must have really been rushing for a train

  • First gig I can recall going to where I wasn't on the booze. And I think I preferred it that way.

  • A beautifully touching tribute to the late Clarence Clemmons during '10th Avenue Freezeout'. During the sax solo, they put pictures and footage of The Big Man up on the big screens. Class.

Yup.Only managed a quick "gana" before his gig here and think I preferred it that way.Did fit in two halvess before BW hit the stage on Saturday though.Old habits and all that.

Kings of the Wild Frontier played from start to finish plus old B-sides, Dirk era stuff and a couple of solo singles at Brixton Academy. Glorious. Real feeling of it being an event and being part of a tribe. Ant Music is our banner.

Neil Young at the O2. First half fantastic second half preachy and long solos over about 3 chords. All it made me do was look up the share price of Monsanto.
He's still great though and no "whoops" from the crowd during Needle and the Damage Done was a bonus.

Field Day at Victoria Park today, John Grant, Steve Mason (ex of Beta Band), Beach House, and Thurston Moore were all splendid, and Parquet Courts and The Brian Jonestown Massacre were pretty decent. £5 for a pint though :'(.

Yeah was there too - better than watching England :winking: - some people around me were disappointed with the `heavy` stuff - but it was a tour to promote the new album - what did they expect singalong Neil - he does not do that.

I like the way he does not compromise but it was too much. I left before the end.
BTW I remember seeing Dylan with Van Morrison at Wembley Arena years ago. Rumour was Dylan was difficult would play all his onscure tunes. What he did was play all his hits and show off that he was a pretty good guitarist to boot. It was Van who insisted on doing long versions of Summer Time in England and sending people to sleep. Keeping the customer satisfied is part of being a star as well as pushing the boundaries.
I then saw Van at Brighton Dome a few years ago with Chris Farlowe. I think Chris had told the old misery that they were getting old and just to have some fun. I even swear I saw Van smile. He was on top form, did all the old ones and some new and was brilliant.

I was surprised that Neil did not say a lot - but enjoyed the `heavy` stuff - whatever floats your boat.

I agree with your point about Dylan & Morrison - seen both a few times and you are never sure which version will turn up - none of them are Springsteen in the communication stakes
