I never been inclined to watch tribute bands, but I have always been a big fan of the Eagles, and one of life's disappointments was that I never saw them live. There is an outfit called the Illegal Eagles doing the Cliffs Pavilion in early September. Anyone ever seen them, and are they worth seeing?

Saw The Eagles here a few years ago now at The Palau Sant Jordi and thought they were distinctly ordinary.

Coming to a Holmfirth venue near you, good sir ... the mighty Graham Parker ... not sure if he's with The Rumour or not ... on October 14th, I believe.

He is billed with The Rumour for the gig. I am considering it. I had a tape of the Up Escalator but haven't played it in years! 14 October.

I was considering New Order later in the year. Prices are a bit high, but sold out in Liverpool in 3 hours after going on sale this morning at 9.00.

If you were in Essex you could see Peter Hook at Chinnerys followed and then a month later New Order at the Brixton academy (sorry to rub it in )

I have seen Hook twice. I am away that week but will be seeing King Crimson and Crosby Still and Nash that month, so not a bad pair of substitutes to bring on.

And Echo and the Bunnymen are playing in Wakefield on 16 October. They were great when I saw them last December. I may have to choose or see them both.

haven't seen Hooky on his ownso looking forward to that . Have seen New Order with and without Hooky (and Gillian thinking about it) . Its not the same without him, there is no denying that - but the band is still my favorite ever band so I will still love it

Booked a ticket for Peter Hook's October concert here last night.

Badly Drawn Boy at The Barbican a couple of weeks back. First part of the gig saw him perform 'Hour Of The Bewilderbeast' in its entirety. That has long been a special album for me, taking me back to when I first started living in London. Second part of the gig was full of 'crowd pleasers'.

Excellent.

Great record 'Bewilderbeast', one of my faves of the whole decade. Did he behave himself? I see he's been a little unpredictable again at a few recent live shows.
