Free agents this summer

Agree with this, midfield is a far harder position to play and he plays ok there so RB shouldn't be a problem.

I disagree. From my limited experience of playing football I'd say full-back is tactically the hardest position to play, in terms of positioning and discipline. It's also probably the position in which you do the most running up and down.

Back on topic, I noticed today that Karl Hawley and Paul Reid were among 7 released at Scunthorpe. Wouldn't mind either of them.

Only a couple i'd consider taking on from there:

Scott Wagstaff

If we were to lose Clohessy and wage permitting - Danny Butterfield

Sounds like Scott Wagstaff might be coming to Col U on a 2 year deal, joining early June if all goes through ok, no doubt looking forward to joining up with Mark Kinsella again, we shall see!

Renne Howe has agreed a deal at Southend

Davids off to Southend as they have announced a new coach within the upcoming days. Good signing as he has shown he can still play but also have a good influence on the team. Dave Penney also reported to be on his way to roots hall as chief scout. A lot of new faces in at the shrimpers as promotion from league 2 is a must for Phil brown to get us back to the championship.

Davids would be a brilliant signing, not only for the influence he will have on the rest of the squad ,but also as a playmaker, and some of the youngsters can learn so much from him.

Was Davids really that great on the pitch for Barnet this season?

Tore us to bits at Underhill, and did the same to a number of clubs during Barnet's good run. I think their season only petered out when the amount of games he was playing caught up with him. Used sparingly, I dare say he could be an asset.

Wouldn't Davids be looking to be a manager and not just a coach. Wouldn't even be assistant manager here.

Chris Phillip's on twitter said he has spoken to Ricky Holmes who said he would definitely consider a move to Southend but we haven't expressed any interest.

I know his name has been passed around more times than I've had hot dinners, but this would be a great signing! Local lad who supports the club too

Why would it be a great signing? He isn't as good as some people like to think.

I really like him, always thought he's looked quite useful when I've seen him play. Due to the finances I can't see us being able to attract many truly brilliant players in the summer. Holmes is a very good player, lives local and loves the club. I would much rather see us signing him than some of the other deadwood that's floating about this summer that's for sure.

Just wondering when the last time was that someone mentioned on here as a possible or would be a great signing or would love him at the club actually happened. The bottom line is that no one has a clue how PB wants to build the side, who his targets are or who is actually realistically available to join us. We all say who we would like and who would be great but cant remember many of these rumours coming true.
