Films you've watched recently.

Deadpool & Wolverine - With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman leading the cast, I wanted it to be better than it turned out to be. Disappointed.

Think I might actually have seen this one.:Happy:Didn'T AP play a baseball player? In any case the Mulligan/Pakula combination was a winner back in the day.
It was based on a memoir by an actual baseball player who was always being pushed by his father if I remember correctly. Also Mulligan's debut as a director, he went on to make some fine films back in those halcyon years of Hollywood before franchises, video games and cgi took over at the expense of grown up cinema.

Actually ,I hadn't seen it ,I checked the trailer earlier. My memory probably comes from a still of the film (A bit before my time) which I'd probably seen in the days when I used to subscribe to Sight and Sound.I stand by what said about Robert Mulligan & Alan Pakula though. They made some great films together and seperately.

Agree, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' may be their finest collaboration but there were plenty of others.

Hidden Figures - On NetFlix. Why oh why had I taken so long to watch this film. Absolutely brilliant, true story.

Three female African-American mathematicians play a pivotal role in astronaut John Glenn's launch into orbit. Meanwhile, they also have to deal with racial and gender discrimination at work.
