FA Trophy fourth round draw - Southport (H)

Last time we entertained Southport in a cup tie, as recently as 1926, we won 5-2.

And we played Southport in the league for the last time in 77-78 I think (?)

We had John Burridge in goal on loan from Villa and they had ex Villa 'keeper and Worcestershire wicketkeeper Jim Cumbes in goal for them. We won a really entertaining game 4-2 with Dave Smith playing a 4-2-4 formation.

We finished the season runners up to Watford, they got relegated from the Football League.

A choice of back ache and possible sun blindness in the East Stand or the delights of the North Stand for those that don't handle standing all that well. As choices go, both are pretty rubbish, so if that happens we may swerve it.

He was a bowler.

Recall the days when Southend v Southport was a regular Football League fixture (sigh).
was thinking the same , used to like Southport, Southend v Southport had a ring to it . saying the it will probably be Peterborough Sports who we have never played before .
