this is a great draw. At home to lower league opposition we couldnt have asked for more. A few all NL which means some NL are guaranteed to go out, This is a game we should win and comfortably if we approach the game right.
Which is frustrating, as even Southport tomorrow are opening all of their stands and allowing fans to roam freely between them.I think the usual line is that they can’t due to stewarding costs. A shame as I hate the east stand. South upper’s a lot better so hopefully that’s open too
Depends on Ticket sells I assumeWhich is frustrating, as even Southport tomorrow are opening all of their stands and allowing fans to roam freely between them.
We must open at least the East & West and make tickets reasonable, what with it being the first week after Christmas.
Opening the west is probably too big for this tie to warrant it. This is why say open the north. It gives fans an incentive to get some nice food, a beer and a good atmosphere. You have none of that if you open the south upper instead.Which is frustrating, as even Southport tomorrow are opening all of their stands and allowing fans to roam freely between them.

West or North, not fussed. Just another option to the East which just kills the atmopshere.Opening the west is probably too big for this tie to warrant it. This is why say open the north. That could be an option. It would mean hardly any stewarding needed. They could enter via shakespeare avenue and we wouldn't have to worry about segregation in the north.North and East for home fans, South for away.
What will they realistically bring down - less than 100?
Come on Tom you know it makes sense
Don’t disagree but unfortunately can’t see the club opening it when the attendance is unlikely to be anymore than 2/2.5k.Please can they open the West Stand for this one.
Having just the East and sometimes just the South Upper kills the atmosphere.
Good idea, just have to be aware of stewarding in the North, sorry to mention it but there's always a few who just want to "have a pop"Surely open NB for home fans as per boxing day and moving forward. Away fans stay in the normal away section and keep East open as per normal
If there were an entrance via Shakespeare Avenue, there would have to be a very long bridge or tunnel, passing over or under Fairfax Drive.Or the northwest corner. Get a good atmosphere in there instead. Open up the east and the North west corner. They could just make the entrance into it via shakespeare avenue.

Along with Workington Town on a cold Friday night and a cup of BovrilRecall the days when Southend v Southport was a regular Football League fixture (sigh).
Not if you go through the Shakespeare Drive turnstiles to the South, which would be fine if the West Stand were not open.Surely there's far too many logistics problems in trying to put away fans back in the South in this day and age?
Shared entrance with the East stand etc etc...
That's what I meant when I said shakespeare avenueNot if you go through the Shakespeare Drive turnstiles to the South, which would be fine if the West Stand were not open.
