Gloucs are effectively 20/4, they're just above us in the table so would be a great win to pick up.

232/8 and they're scoring fast, we may have missed our chance, Jon Lewis thwarting us at No. 10 again. Points lost here.

Have no fear, RtD isn't injured, he's been banned from bowling due to sending down consecutive beamers.

Blimey i've not heard of that rule being enforced in ages, but great news nonetheless

So Gloucs are effectively 182-8 and there's a minimum 38 overs left, the new ball is due in 3 overs so hopefully we'll knock them over with a lead of about 200 leaving us about 30 overs to get the runs, good practise for tomorrow if nothing else

Essex begin their T20 campaign this evening with a match at Hove verses Sussex

We won the toss and elected to field and go in with Pettini, Bopara, Shah, Walker, Foster, ten Doeschate, Styris, Phillips, Napier, Southee, Wright a strong looking line up but Nash and Wright have made a good start against Southee and Napier and its 18-0 off 2
