2 down and we still need another 200 or so to avoid the follow-on.

Owais has avoided being run out by dealing entirely in boundaries so far, but is about to be joined by Ravi.

This is where Pubey should have posted his epic popcorn post.

Ignoring Napiers one match blitz Ravi is our top batsman this summer with 409 runs at 40.9 .. i think last time we won promotion we had 3 averaging over 60

Actually Cook's our top batsman with 504 at 42 in the CC, but I take your point that we need more. I like Owais Shah's start, he's currently 88* and if we avoid the follow on in this game, it will be mainly down to him. I'd like to think that Cook, Bopara and Shah would all average over 50, but doubt we'll see Cook again this summer.

Who would have been the three who averaged over 60 last time?

I've now come to the conclusion that Blueblood just makes up statistics:liar:

Last time we were promoted no-one scored 1,000 runs and although Bopara and Amla both averaged over 100, they played just 2 and 3 games respectively so shouldn't be counted in the averages. Next highest was RtD who averaged 45.72 from 14 matches. Tom Westley averaged 42.55 from 6 matches and no-one else - including Cook who played 8 matches and averaged 35.21 - averaged over 40.

Cook, Foster and tenDo IIRC

We finish at stumps one run short of avoiding the follow-on, with three wickets in hand.

In the IPL, RtD comes in at 20-4 and scores 70* off 49 balls:clap:

Middlesex 77/3, 171 runs ahead. Looks like they're upping the pace for a cheeky declaration.

I thought he did ok last time we have been pretty much playing without a spinner all season! Makes you appreciate how good Danish was though!

I watched him at Garons against Warwicks last season and to be fair he bowled pretty well and picked up a few wickets in a low scoring match which Essex lost.

Just after lunch we've got them at 163-6............not all over yet. If we can polish off the tail and keep the target to around 300 it could be an interesting final day.
