Dale farm evictions "may breach human rights"

Unless they used it to go an learn how to fight ? And learnt about anatomy and not waste time battering each other like animals and strike in vulnerable areas (requires an intellect to know where to strike to cripple or maim ).

No it doesn't. You can be thick as two short planks but still know that punching someone very hard in the face will maim them.

And break your knuckles if you do it wrong , and how many times ? over one strike to the right place or even a palm strike ?
You are aware your arguing that a brawler is essentially a better fighter then a trained martial artist/solider ?

This is why Shrimperzone is going down the toilet of the information super highway. Grr! I'm an angry man!

No I'm not.

You said that intellect is required to maim someone. It may help you be more efficient in doing so, but it's not required. If an utter half-wit who also happened to be quite strong punched you flush in the nose, he'd most likely damage his knuckles, but that wouldn't change the fact that he had maimed you.

Actually, its an example why common sense is just that, common sense, rational and intellectual debate dicates, according to you, that it has no place while I will argue that sitting around beating to death the thoughts of so called great minds who had never done a days hard labour in their life but just sat around telling the rest of us whats right and wrong is just reinventing the wheel to meet their own political goals or what their percieve as social status.

Jean Paul Sartre jumps to mind with his ramblings. Opposed the Vietnam War and started the Russell Tribunal to highlight American war crimes yet met Castro and Che Cuevara and declared Cuevara 'Not only a intellectual but the most complete human being of our age' Could this be the same Che Cuevara who said ' The executions by firing squad are not only a necessity for the people of Cuba but also an imposition of the people' Maybe he thought up that line while sitting on the prison wall watching the executions while puffing on a havana. Care to point out where the rational and intellectual debate is hiding in this paragraph.

So you tell me why common sense has no place within rational and intellectual debate and why intellectual debate almost always refers to socialist views and everyone else is either a bigot, fascist or right wing potential unibomber.

And keep my arse out of it, pervert!!

I'm sure if JPS jumps to mind you'll be familiar with this quote from General Mathieu in The Battle of Algiers:-

"Why are the Sartres always on the other side?
You don't like Sartre?
No, but I'd like him even less as an enemy"

If you haven't seen the film I thoroughly recommend it btw.

ps You're a little out of date. These days we have Noam Chomsky to argue the case for the left.I look forward to his pronouncements on Dale Farm.:winking:

Get it back on ****in topic. Jeeeesus, why does every soddin thread have to decend in to the rants of a delussional socialist halfwit or the rablings of a psudo psychological Freudian wannabe.

Gypo's, shoot the soddin lot of em........and the bloody coppers sitting on the A130 waiting for anyone doing 55 mph! :dim:

They have a sense of humour though - trying to get the scaffolding listed....

DALE Farm travellers have failed to get listed status for the gateway to their site.Heritage Minister John Penrose said he had accepted the advice of English Heritage and would not list the scaffolding structure.
He said: "Although clearly a structure which is significant for the travellers at Dale Farm, the tubular steel, wood and rubber construction holds no special architectural or historic interest and does not therefore meet the criteria for listing."

ps You're a little out of date. These days we have Noam Chomsky to argue the case for the left.I look forward to his pronouncements on Dale Farm.:winking:

He describes his family as living in a sort of "Jewish ghetto", split into a "Yiddish side" and "Hebrew side", with his family aligning with the latter and bringing him up "immersed in Hebrew culture and literature", though he means more a "cultural ghetto than a physical one".[19] Chomsky also describes tensions he experienced with Irish Catholics and German Catholics and anti-semitism in the mid-1930s. He recalls "beer parties" celebrating the fall of Paris to the Nazis.[19] In a discussion of the irony of his staying in the 1980s in a Jesuit House in Central America, Chomsky explained that during his childhood, "We were the only Jewish family around. I grew up with a visceral fear of Catholics. They're the people who beat you up on your way to school. So I knew when they came out of that building down the street, which was the Jesuit school, they were raving anti-Semites. So childhood memories took a long time to overcome."

Yep, does it for me, pity he can't make his mind up about his 'Jewish Ghetto' and being the only jewish family in the area, real small ghetto that. I notice he has anarchist leanings, I trust he will be giving up his comfortable excistence to follow the cause come the reveloution, like your good self of course.

We were talking about the 127

Blimey O'Riley, I was only three out, sheesh :'( I've only seen it there (the A127 :raspberry:) once and it wasn't a speed trap vehicle but the ANPR wagon, Ford Galaxy I think it was. Still, crafty buggers for sitting in the layby in the first place.
