The whole point that you people dont get, is that if the council allow this illegal development to go ahead they would have to let anyone build anything, and as you sound like the tree hugger sort, you would probably be one of the first to complain. Unbelievable.

Traveller defines their ethnic group, it does not describe their current living arrangement... For example being English means you are of English heritage not that you live in England.

I don't think the word "traveller" inert or otherwise defines an ethnic group. All the people I've seen and heard on Dale Fram all seem to belong to the ethnic group of White Caucasian. Or Irish White Caucasian.

If they were Romany Gypsies then I'd agree, however they are in the main Irish diddicoys & tinkers.

The Government are seemingly changing the law to allow "to let anyone build anything" particularly on Greenbelt, provided they can pay new planning fees. Eric Pickles picked a good time to announce that news...

Why do I sound like a "tree hugger sort"? I believe in care for the environment, but also as population grows as does development. It's about living sustainably within our means and being good stewards of the planet we have.

I am just asking your view. As a left wing luvvie, I guess you would allow all to post their views because everyone is equal and has the same rights. As you are defending these travellers to the hilt, I would presume the fact the webpage in question is deleting all posts not supporting the travellers, that wouldn't be in line with your beliefs, not giving everyone equality and freedom of speech. So in actual fact, you are supporting a bunch of people who go against your ethics and beliefs.

I might be left wing but I can assure you I'm no luvvie.As I understand it, the purpose of the Dale Farm Residents website is to get their message out directly to the media(and the rest of us).Why you should expect it to be some sort of message board(like this one)I've frankly no idea.

Read in a newspaper (It was the Daily Fail to be fair) that some of them had moved to Luton and were setting up, what I'd call Dale Farm MKII there. They got through by bolt cutting the fence and then gained access. Trespassing, which should be seeing them arrested, but of course, they'll be allowed to go about there business as it's "their human rights".

Bedfordshire County Council will neither deny or confirm that they are in fact an offshoot of the Dale farm lot. What they will confirm however is that they are aware of them and that eviction notices are in the process of being delivered. It is council parkland but as yet they have not recieved any complaints from the general public.

Incidentaly, I drove up to Corby yesterday morning around 7am and noticed a few (about 4 or 5 caravans) pykies had pitched up just south of the Cambridge services on the A14 about 200 yards off the road verge and when returning about 6pm they had multiplied to about a dozen. I have no idea if they are of Dale Farm decent but by now I fully expect the concrete to have gone down and electricity being illegaly routed to the site from the services that back on to where they've pitched up.

Don't know about you but that programe only reinforced my view that they are all a load of freeloading, workshy, untrustworthy drains on society.

When that guy had his tools stolen from his van, worth over £4000 at the B&Q car park last week, a witness said a man with an Irish accent asked him to move his car. Turns out so that the thief could get next to the van.
What are the odds that those tools ended up on Dale Farm?
