Last month it was # be kind .....now it's # f**k you at the supermarket

Human nature. People panic when they’re scared.

What wouldn’t go amiss right now, if there was some clarity from the goverment & supermarkets, regarding the issue.

I.e. we plan to stay open, we’re doubling down on stock, we have contingency plans in place for staff shortages etc etc.

I am one of the old 70 pluses in the East Reds (the quiet zone). Although the government may have best intentions regarding us it is really annoying that they are considering quarantining us in our own homes. Surely we should be allowed to go out for a walk, a game of golf etc. As long as we are sensible, which most of our generation are, then we should be OK. Just avoid confined areas with lots of people. Otherwise, along with Roy Hodgson, Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger we will be in solitary confinement.

You can expect an announcement about this on Tuesday in the UK (according to C4 news).FWIW,I agree with your comments.Btw I'm only two years away from your agegroup and quite like the East Reds these days (though I always preferred the West Stand when you could actually stand there)! It's where my parents used to have season tickets.

Remember mate, If you ever get stuck, you’ve got plenty of amigos on this site, and I’m sure they’ll be happy to help, if needs be.

A very kind offer @GBJ but with a sensible approach to this ****storm and the fact that we are both mobile and can drive, I would reckon we will navigate through. Failing that we are five minutes from Southend Hospital.

Failing that, put a baseball cap on backwards, sag your jeans & start calling everyone blud. You’ll pass for a wean ?

Have just heard even more worrying news. My sister in law's partners cousin is a nurse in a hosp in Monza near Milan in Italy.
She said the virus is claiming victims in there 40's & 50's with NO underlying health conditions FFS!.

Not surprisingly, as parents we are more concerned for our daughter and her partner and his daughter than we are for ourselves. They both work on the NHS front line, he in Birmingham Childrens Hospital operating theatre and her as a counsellor seeing under 18 clients and lecturing at Derby Uni. They stand far more chance of picking stuff up than we. By the way, we have told them to bugger off if they were thinking of coming down at Easter...........just in case.:Winking:

the disruption that this virus is, and will most likely, continue to cause is nearly as bad as the virus itself. there will be many companies that won't make it through and those that do will have changed their approach to things.

what's really worrying with this is the reasoning behind why over 70's may be advised to stay at home, it's essentially battlefield triage where care is prioritised for those that are most likely to survive

Or, people could calm down a bit. It doesn’t help when it’s on the news and social media 24/7 with all the various conspiracy theories.

Just got back from a couple of hours at the pub. The sport consisted of Cycling, Biathlon and snooker. I don't mind a bit of snooker but it's no football substitute.

The manager reckons it's likely the pub will be shut by next weekend.
No football, no pub, I haven't drunk at home for years but I think I might start again!

Rail franchises are starting they may "fail" with the losses in revenue?
Does this mean they will be put into administration and be re nationalised?

What pub?
And I never realised people went to the pub to watch TV I go for a good beer and chat, talk balls with mates, acquaintances and strangers .

I’m a bit concerned by the fact MK knows this. Was he on toilet watch? You can get nicked for stuff like that.

Lol it was a small loo, 4 urinals and a sink. Not hard to spot.

Agreed. The pub on Friday night in Central London was quiet, no need to queue for an overpriced G&T.
